Bye bye G-Stock....

I think it's safe to say, that I'm no longer a threat to those in GS anymore....

Not since the installation of:

Addco Adjustable Rear Sway Bar
BlehmCo Stage 2 Lower Tie Bar
*Stillen front strut tower bar
*Hawk HP+ pads
*Brembo Sport slotted rotors
*Technafit DOT-approved braided SS brakelines
*KYB AGX shocks
*Eibach Pro Kit springs
XS Power 2.5" y-pipe
Random Technologies high flow cat
*Apexi World Sport 2 catback exhaust

*- denotes items that are bought and paid for, but haven't arrived to doorstep yet.

I got a feeling I'm going up to E Prepared. Ahh well.. c'est la vie.

yep, with the LTB2 you bump up to SM or EP, your choice. EP is usually a slower group, which is why I run with it.

Your new setup sounds alot like mine...

EP has the possibility to be VERY fast, there was a civic at the last AI event that was about 5 seconds faster than me:

http://www.autocrossersinc.net/docs/...11_05_2006.pdf

although, i did have a little trouble getting heat into my tires, it was like 50 degrees out

That's to be expected. I just checked around and there's CRX's, Civic's, and Corolla's running EP mostly. 1600lbs and 230hp+ in some cases. Depends on the club.

No... the Pro-Kit is progressive. I was REALLY teetering and about to sell my soul, and put a BIG purchase on my new AmEx Blue card.... JIC's.

But then I realized, that I don't have the time, nor patience to deal with them having to be rebuilt every year, at $150/corner.

So... While it may be not as "mad-tyte-JDM-hotness" as JIC's, I think that the AGX/ProKit combo is everything I need/want.

Irish... if my setup looks a lot like yours, it's because that's what I patterned it after. Plus, I got a lot of good deals on some gently used stuff, off of ebay and the .org.

I plan to get some AGX's, but since I actually bought that RX-7, I don't know if I should still go linear with the maxima springs or progressive.

there doesnt seem to be any mention of the most important mod... the tires

also you might want to drive around before your runs to get heat into the hp+, i could never get them hot enough on autoX courses, so i use hps now

listen to gdmax....he's running on the r-comps..and crushed Irish the last go round....

I'm sure Irish is gearing up to petition his in-house chief financial officer for approval for appropriation money for r-comps....this next season anyway...

I've seen that guy run at a CDC event....i think it was actually at the Bowie event last year (you were there, right?). I'm pretty sure he was top-5 overall in the entire CDC field if it's the car i'm thinking of...VERY fast.

nope, i'm going to be satisfied playing second fiddle to you next season - I have other bigger financial priorities next year:

1. House with a big garage and then

2. Start dropping all of my "car money" into the Triumph. It's so much more fun to work on and drive than the Maxima......

In terms of spending money on more performance, the Maxima is done for the foreseeable future. I'll still autocross it, but only until the Triumph is track-able. I need to drop about $4K to get it up and going and in good enough shape for autocross (brake upgrades, new carbs, new headers/exhaust, LSD, replacement of alot of old rusty stuff, and a roll bar....plus new wheels and tires....plus alot of other stuff).

it was actually a mid 80s civic that i have never seen before. it was built to the full extent of EP rules... gutted, 10" wide cantilever slicks, lexan windows, fuel cell, etc.

ill be running in DSP next season anyway, chasing that green civic and trying to improve my PAX

So...you mean like "track-able" like VIR?

How about a little old azz RX-7 vs. old azz Triumph action?

I will still bring the boat out to race though...especially if you're going...

It may be a couple years before I can get the triumph in shape for a "real" track....but as soon as it's roadworthy I'll probably start autocrossing it.

JIC told me they probably have to be rebuilt every 2 years or so, more if you track them. So, his information might be accurate.

I'm not sure any coilover will be any different, especially if you use them like you're supposed to, ie race 'em.

I wouldn't bail on one setup for another, unless there is another reason you don't like them.
