corner weight #'s

went to see Darin @ West End Alignment yesterday. here are the numbers...

957 947
628 618

X weight
Front L + Rear R = 1575 lbs (50%)
Front R + Rear L = 1575 lbs (50%)

Perfect!!!

weight w/ 190 pound driver...

3150 lbs

Front=60.4% / Rear=39.6%
Left=50.3% / Right=49.7%

not too bad considering i have no major weight reduction. i've got a 5 speed GXE w/ a sun roof, optima in trunk (right of spare tire), a gutted trunk, & half a tank of gas at the time. the alignment and rear beam bend feel awesome (normal street driving only so far). it seems like the car turns more with the same amount of steering input. looking forward to the next track day!!!

I hate you jack...my car is still 100lbs heavier than yours and I have done a little more weight reduction than you! but my corner weights balance and front to rear balance are exactly the same as yours which is interesting!

did you do the urethane bushings all around already (Darin had a hard time doing my trailing arm ones!!!)? what did you have him set your front camber and toe to?

100lbs heavier w/ a cf hood? how much did it weight w/ a stock hood? i've done all bushing for made for 4th gens and i'm thinking about trying the sentra bushings for my trailing arms. some ones already done this i read in a thread some where. front camber is at 2 degrees & zero toe up front. i'm gonna try this out first and see how it feels. may add alittle toe later. also found an 00vi kit. i'm still talkin to the guy but it looks like it's goin down. should make for a nice compliment to the recent header install.

our cars absolutely need some toe out up front to kill some of that understeer...you should consider a hair of toe out say 1/16" if your worried about tire wear...(I barely drive my car anymore which is why I can get away with -2.3 degrees camber and 1/8" toe out)

well it sounds like I have done the same amount of weight reduction as you have except for the 2 piece rotors and cf hood...but 5th gens are naturally heavier...they have too much stuff in them!...but there isn't much more I can remove off the car, I removed about 100lbs already from stock...cf hood, aluminum crank pulley, stillen flywheel, 2 piece rotors 6th gen (same weight as one piece 5th gen's so I guess there is no weight reduction there), removed some miscellaneous stuff, plating and bolts here and there, some in trunk stuff, headers and full exhaust and full aluminum coilovers remove a little weight I suppose...the 350z seats are slightly lighter, just haven't installed them yet, but from subjectively picking them up side by side I can notice a slight difference...

all I know is my weight with me in the car reduced 100lbs (according to the second cornerweighting) from when I first got cornerweighted by Darin...what ride height did you settle on with him? hope you didn't go too low! but of course, I have added stuff which gains weight as well otherwise I would be lighter, such as stillen oil cooler, emanage ultimate, eventually a harness bar with full camlock harness, the usual front and rear stb, rsb, front brake cooling ducts, sub frame connectors, etc. but hopefully those add more usefullness than extra weight they add...

I only try to remove hidden weight I suppose...I wish there was something huge & heavy in the engine bay that I could remove that wouldn't hurt the resalebility of the car....lol

someday, I'll tear out all the interior..just don't have any place to store it!

ride height is slightly higher than when you saw it last. you could always remove the crap behind the front bumper, just don't rear end anyone.
