Taking interest into autocross
I have considered autocross a couple of times but I never knew where was the closest place that held events. Come to find out, they have events here twice a month starting from February to October.
Since I just got the I30t tranny, I figured I put it to the test one of these days + i'm getting bored of drag racing. I am needing to replace my tires(they're bald) and I was wondering what you all thought. I currently have Nitto 555's 235/40/18's and I'm thinking of switching over to Kuhmo's MX. The wheels I have are 18x7.5s. The question i'm really having is if I should go with a 235 or 245 tire? I had no complaints about the Nitto tires, other than they were expensive! I was able to take a turn around underpass at 70 mph with them. <-- I was massively impressed!
So what would be best for autocross?

the MX is a good choice. Cheap and very popular in street tire classes.

If you're set on those wheels then try the Kumho MX in the 225/40/18's. Same as stock size for speedo and the'll sit good on your 7.5" wide rims. $392+ ship from TireRack for a set after rebate. That's a dirt cheap price compared with the Advan's $964, KD $808, RE01 $736, and even Azenis at $508. Otherwise change to 8" or wider rims to handle 245's.
