Quaife QDF8L

Hi all,

Not quite a Maxima guy, but I run a U12 Pintara (USDM Stanza) with the KA24E and RS5F50A tranny as my circuit car.

I'm looking at getting the QDF8L from Quaife shortly, but have come up with an issue regarding my RS5F50A diff and the drawings suppled by Quaife for the Maxima RS5F50A.

Can anyone give me some dimensions of the driveshafts that slot into the non-lsd A32 RS5F50A tranny?

Just need to know the number of splines (I think it's 29 according to Quaife?) and the bore ID just before the splines (Quaife claim 32mm, I measured 29mm in my RS5F50A non-lsd diff).

Hopefully I can get some A32 / U12 hybrid axles made up to run the QDF8L, since everything else is the same.

Cheers!

Cheers, much appreciated.

If you could also tell me what the OD of the shaft is where it sits in the seal, would be great too.

Ok so you need:

1. Count of total #splines on open diff axle
2. ID of shaft measured at the splines = low point between splines or OD shaft with splines?
3. OD of shaft after splines where axle Seal rides

post pics of car thanks

Ok here we go:

1. count of splines on lon-lsd axle = 29 (counted 3x)
2. OD of splines = 29.78mm
3. ID of where axle seal rides = 33.31mm

^^also

2. for the splines OD - I do have a USED axle that has some scoring on splines from being used in a 3.5L swap. If i measure OD of shaft between splines and between Axle seal ring = 28.93mm so i'd be leaning more toward ~29mm, than the ~30mm from measurement at the splines due to wear.

The axles from a non LSD A32 Max trans should pop right in with the Quaife differential. I reused my non LSD Raxles after I had the 5 speed trans rebuilt with the Quaife diff.
