SE-R VQ35 hits 157mph at VIR
We entered in the Ultimate Track Car Challenge this year (held at VIR) and even tho we were outclassed, running against Vipers, Porsches and other big motor cars, we placed very, very well. Watch us fight it out with a 700hp Ford GT, not the street legal version.
The overheating issue was solved and by the last session, Big J had tuned the VQ to where I was topping 5th and holding 6th down the back straight. We were pushing the edge of 160mph. With better aero we should see 165+ later this year.
Here we are tearing up the UTCC! Enjoy and please post some comments on youtube. Maybe Nissan Motorsports is watching

Thanks for all the props. This is a VQ powered Sentra making 250whp, so nothing crazy. Later on we are hoping to add equal length headers, cams and a couple other tweaks.
But right now we have some aero to build
BTW, we came in 16th out of 37.. not bad considering the high level of competition and we were stuck in V6-V10 + turbo class.

16th with those pipe hitting thugs is fully respectable! Serious serious hardware out there with a lot of guys who have zero in mind aside from building whatever it takes to lap fast and budgets with lots of numbers in them.

Here is our 2011 UTCC Video..
Just like last year, the heat index was push 105deg. In preparation we added a huge Griffin nascar radiator to handle the heat. 3" core, with integrated oil cooler. We also added a 2JR surge tank and pump to take care of the injector duty cycles and bring them back into check. Anyone planning on running a VQ past 275whp on the stock VQ injectors, good luck 'cause you are asking for big trouble. We added a set of 440 injectors to mix to drop the DC's down to 70%. And we did some custom work on the VQ intake that added 30whp on the top. Porting, increased plenum volume, etc. We offer this service for anyone interested.
We finally added some 2JR livery as well.
2JR Custom Maxima Intake
Griffin Rad
Dyno tuning the new 440s at CiN in NC (in route to UTCC at VIR)
Once at the track we had issues with a camaro losing it motor and knocking off our hood latch. And our fuel lines delaminated, so our sessions were shortened and we didnt get to run as well as we would have liked. We were; however, the fastest NA FWD by far and we came in second behind a 400whp SRT4 who had 3 seconds on us. The heat was causing everyone to lose grip, blow motors and run slow lap times. We ran about 3 seconds faster than last year and we could have bested that by another two seconds given the fuel issues didnt surface, but thats racing. And this is how we test all our parts. Next year will be even better.

God the sound your VQ makes is orgasmic. How many years you been doing this? Ever since I saw your videos, I've made it one of my goals to hopefully see you at an event and maybe some day I'll reach your level of skill behind the wheel and see you on the track.

This weekend we shattered the Road Atlanta track record with a 1:36! We are just shy of the World Challenge RTR record

That is just awesome.
So Im curious about something. What ECU are you using? I have an 08 Altima 3.5 6sp 4dr. Ive had it up to 140, but Ive read the limiter kicks in at 145ish. Some feel with the limiter removed it should easily do 150-155.
