Ebay seller airflowtec from NJ warning

Just a warning to all 4th gen and i30 owners, don't buy coil packs or anything for that matter from Ebay seller: Airflowtech located in NJ.

On Apr 6 2009 I purchased 6 brand new coil packs for my vehicle. They finally arived on Apr 14 2009 but I picked them up on the 15th.

After driving home, I installed them. I had a hard time getting them to clip properly as the clips can still be removed even after locking them in. After them I started the car and boy did it missfire. One of the coils were bad right out of the box.

I then unplugged clip by clip until I found out which one so I replaced it with my old coil and the car ran fine.

I quickly sent the seller the following messages.
Dear airflowtech,

Hello, I just received the coils and one of them causes the car to misfire very badly. It is in worse condition than the broken one that I took out.

5 of the 6 work. What are my options?

Later on that night I decided to sent one which explains which coil to help things speed up.

Dear airflowtech,

One of the rear coils were defective right out of the box. How do I go about getting a replacement?

I decided to make a late night food run and had my car running for about 5 minutes then I hear the car missfiring again. Another rear coil went out. After replacing with my old coil again I sent this message.

Dear airflowtech,

Hello I sent you a message earlier about the bad coil. Well, after letting my car warm up, a second rear coil completely gave up. They aren't bad as in user error, they are bad as in "I put in the old coil for the car to work". So far I've put back in 2 of my old coils for the car to run on all six and not on 4 cylinders. Please get back to me.

still nothing so later that night I sent another message.

I requested his contact information from ebay and will give him a call soon. Please don't say that I am being unreasonable. 2 days is well enough time to acknoledge someone. I am sure that he will continue to ignore me.

What do you guys suggest after I am being ignored for 1 full week which I fully expect?

unfortunately ebay doesn't care for the people that get ripped off cause if u wouldn't have paid him you would gotten in unpaid strike but when you on time and get something defective no contact from the seller ebay can care less i've seen people with 1,000 negative feedback read them some people don't even recieve what they bought and they still have an account still selling and still 9 times out of 10 ripping people off so I don't know what actions you can take

I opened a paypal case and he finally replied. During the shipping process the case expired and you are screwed. On 5-25-09 I finally got the replacement for the 2 bad coils that I posted about earlier. Put it in the car and what the f*ck do you know? It's missfiring. 1 of the coils were bad. I just drove down to Kragen and purchased a replacement coil and left negative feedback for this ******* who sells broken trash.

get a look at his feedback now, I'm not the only one who got bad coils.

Damn sorry to hear you missed the claim, lesson learned I geuss.

On Apr 6 2009 I purchased 6 brand new coil packs for my vehicle. They finally arived on Apr 14 2009 but I picked them up on the 15th.

You live on the west coast, he is on the east coast. In my selling experience 1 in 20 buyers expects you to ship there item out within 30 seconds of sending payment, and then e-mails you 3 days later asking why they haven't gotten it yet, and if you don't respond to that e-mail within 45 minutes they proceed to resend the same e-mail, they let another hour tops go by before they send out a third asking why you haven't replied to the other e-mails. True story.

I have been screwed by airflowtech too .. no more ebay - no more paypal for me

A lot of crooks are lurking on ebay.

It is a pity that ebay does not let you modify your review a week or two after you have received the shipment.

The stuff I got from airflowtech (4th Gen Ignition coils ) went bad in a few weeks.

170 bucks down the drain. No recourse from ebay or from paypal.

I am never going to use ebay or paypal ever again.

I am sure their stock will be in the toilet in a few years.

wow dude, i haxe been a member of ebay since 04 and have only been screwed like 2 times. shipping can either be rocket fast or the post office can lose the $hit in the back which has happened to me several times. you gotta read feedback, sometimes a seller will have only 1 or 2 negative feedback and if its recent, i wont buy from them. i got screwed in here twice, you gotta look around and double check sometimes.

Reading their feedback is key. Anything below 99.9% and I'm not buying from them.
