One of the things I run across from time to time is the use of detailing products around the house. Believe it or not, you can use the same products you use on your car in the house.

I have heard of people using Klasse and Zaino to treat their toilets and/or showers. I even ran across someone using the same products to do the floor of their home.

This thread is designed to provide information on how to use certain detailing products around the house.

I polished my stove, and cabinet handles with Mother's Aluminum/Mag polish. The results were great!

I also recommend getting a set of MFs for the house. They are effective in removing dust and glass cleaning.

I also used my Plexus on the electronics (Cassette Deck, VCR, and DVD Player) in my bedroom to clean them up.

I just used 303 to freshen up a pair of matte leather shoes and they turned out nice.

I bought some Meguiar's Plastic Detailer and used it to clean the lenses of my eyeglasses. Works pretty well.

Wax the tile in the tub or shower w/ Meg's #26.

Keeps the soap scum from building up because it beads up w/ the water instead of sheeting on the tile.

Here's a tip for next winter.....Spray 303 Protectant on your snow shovels and wipe dry. The wet snow won't stick to it.

There's a foaming upholstery cleaner that you get at Walmart (automotive section) called Blue Corral. It has removed just about every carpet stain I've had in the house!

I've used 303 on my stove and my shoes, but never thought to apply it to my snow shovel! As much as I want to try it out, I'm still not anxious for winter to come...

I think I read somewhere that you are suppose to wax your refrigerator every once in a while with an automotive wax. I did mine last month with Gold Class from Meguiars and also used a little Black Magic on the plastic pieces. The only problem now is the wax is so slick, some of the magnets won't stick anymore. Looks nice though.

If mine is 'really' dirty, I'll take her to the car wash, suds her up then rinse her off. Then once I get home, I wash her again with Turtle Wax Car Wash in warm water.

After I have the outside clean, I empty that water and get more before starting on the inside. Warm soapy water works good on leather, rubber, vinyl and plastic. Then once it all dries, I spray Son of A Gun Protectant liberally on my seats and console. Then fold another clean dry rag in 1/4 size spray it down with the protectant and wipe up the excess. There's a leather cleaner sold in Advance Auto in a lime green bottle that's pretty good for this, but I can't remember the name of it right now. This same lime green leather cleaner gives the car interior a slight vanilla scent.

Also, I heard that furniture polish works good on leather interior. I have yet to try that. But it sort of makes sense.

As for the tires. I really don't wash those until they are filthy. Otherwise, I use Son of a Gun Tire Cleaner. I'll spray the tires down and let it sit until the foam evaporates. Then at night, I spray a sponge down with the Son of a Gun Protectant and lightly wipe the tires again. In the morning, they are black and look like glass.

I do my rims last. Warm soapy (dish detergent or hand soap) water and a clean bathcloth does great along with another bathcloth for drying. Heck, if I up to it, I'll blow my breath on the rim, then rub with a dry towel. They sparkle.

My car looks great.

I use Aerospace 303 protectant on all of my stainless appliances. No streaks, no smudges!

Provided that mine is "truly" filthy, I'll take her to the auto wash, suds her up then flush her off.

At that point once everything dries, I spread Son of A Gun Protectant generously on my seats and support. At that point fold an alternate clean dry cloth in 1/4 size splash it down with the protectant and wipe up the abundance. There's a cowhide cleaner sold in Advance Auto in a lime green jug that is really useful for this, yet I can't recollect the name of it at this time. This same lime green calfskin cleaner gives the auto inside a slight vanilla aroma.
