Why doesn't my car dry?

I've just noticed that my Maxima is always wet after a rain even thought all the other cars around me have dried off.

It rained last night and every single car around me is already dried, but my car still has huge puddles on it...

I'm no expert but do you have any wax on there or any kind of paint protection? Maybe that would cause it...

I used some wax I bought at a flea market a few weeks ago...but the water beads very well...

Beading is good, it means the paint is protected and the wax is doing its job. Shouldnt complain about it. What wax are you using?

It's called Lazy Man's Wax or some crap like that. I don't think it's too good.

The problem is the water doesn't dry for a LONG LONG time and it ends up leaving these really ugly water spots. After a rainstorm, my car looks like utter ****.

I read somewhere once that watter beads act like magnifying glasses and can cause damage to the paint. True?

This happens to my car too. Any idea?

Park in the sun...

I'll bet the other cars have no wax on them. The water doesn't bead up, it just runs off, therefore it will dry faster. Good for drying after the rain, but bad because the paint has no protective wax coating.

Same happens with mine....because the water beads, it's the last one to get dry....I consider that a good thing. I haven't gotten water spots, though, just round circles of dirt after it's dried.

As for the magnifying effect, I've never heard of that. I think it's BS.

Yeah, they're little circles of dirt, I think...I can wipe them off with a speed detailer. But it's annoying....Anyone have any solutions?

The beads should be less than a quarter size otherwise time to wax again. I wonder about the magnifying effect too. Drive it around fast, it'll dry.
