Maxi got Zaino'd...

Finally with with no more rain in sight.. i was finally able to Zaino the car!

Took 2 days from start to finish... Heres how it went:

1- Washed
2- Clayed with Z18
3- Washed with Z-7
4- One coat of Z5 (Toughest coat ever!)
5- One coat of Z6 (Gloss enhancer)
6- One coat of Z2 pro
7- Final coat of Z6

Now what the instructions dont tell you is that u have to be fit as a **** to do this... i can barley type!! Shes slick, wet as hell, mirror like... and stunningly beautiful! Cant take my eyes offa her...

Money well spent... and like i said in my last thread:

Ah, that reminds me I gotta wash both of them. I just got the 4th Gen from the Body Shop. My dad picked it up while the guy was washing it so, I gotta wash it one more time tommorow.

thanks Pal for clearing that up

the crest on the car is the same as the national crest with the exception that the one on the car is the royal crest (the crown ontop of the crest).

Oh ya, nothing like a Zaino'd Maxi! I did mine a couple of months ago, clay bar'd, Z7 wash, 3 coats of Z5 and 3 coats of Z2-Pro all with Z6 in between. Using the Zaino quick cure, I was able to get this done over a weekend, and felt it on Monday. Now with maintenance Z7 wash and Z8, it is blinding in the sun. I love this stuff on dark coloured cars!

Looks nice ... and just think, it'll last for a whole month or two before you have to do it again!

(Well, at least that what the Zainoheads say. And that's if you *don't* wash it with anything but Zaino wash ... no car washes!)

Seriously, it looks great, but I still can't be convinced it's worth all the effort unless you have a show car. It would kill me to come out three days later and see the dust and bird crap on it after all that elbow grease.

Very shiny!

Just curious, how long will all the protection last? I used to get 4-6months of water beading out of Raindance (which they don't make anymore) and Meguires. Even used to go so far as to do my other car half with one and half with the other just to see if there was a difference.

There wasn't

Good to see someone else enjoying the Zaino line of products. A word of advice though; you are applying too much Zaino if it's a workout to put on and remove. Zaino is not like a paste wax that you need to apply in visible amounts. Your goal is to put on the thinnest coat possible and do multiple coats. I generally do the following with my 4th gen:

1. Wash with Z7
2. Z2 w/ ZFX (repeat two more times)
3. Z6 (repeat two more times)
4. Z5 w/ ZFX
5. Grand Finale

I was skeptical of any difference between Grand Finale and Z6 until I used it. It does indeed deepen the finish and give the car a "wet" look; well worth the $20.

Here is a wax test I have. I can't link or if I can I don't know how. The car looks great Hz. So does Boone's what do you use? I have tried just about everything and use Mcguire's Gold Clasic now because it's just so easy. It only lasts a couple of months.

I have been using Meguiar's NXT. It works well. No complaints here. I started using it in the winter because unlike Zaino, it doesn't take that long to apply and the temp doesn't have to be very high. If it's nice on my next weekend off, I'll apply the Zaino and see what kind of results I get.

THT... thanks for the advice..

what i thought to be the problem was that the Z5 dried up real quick (i left it less than the recomended 30min) it was hard getting it off... ill try thinner coats this weekend.

EDITL: those experimenting with car detailing products.. i highly recomend Auto Glym. I have only seen one store carry it in the usa so far (but i havnt been here that long). It works wonders, its not that hard to put on and off, and definatly gives a top class shine.

Zanio is some killer stuff. I did my car well over a year ago and the water still beads. no matter what there will always be haterz out there that knock it. Bottom line is that it's their loss not yours

I feel like a real slug compared to some of yall with this upkeep....lol I wax the max section by section and if im lucky ill finich the whole car in a few weeks...anyone else wax liek this? Today I did the trunk, bumper, roof, and the rear quarter panels. The other day Just did the front bumper. I dont wax any particular # of times a year....just when I wash and notice the water isnt beading up that well in a particular section...I do a real good job tho, spent an hour and a half waxing today with what I did. I use Meguiar's Paste...cost me like $20.

Yes! I wax like you do.....section by section. Occasionally, I will get going and do the whole car, but usually, it's one section a week!

Dang and I thought I was serious about keeping the car clean!

But actually that's not a bad idea. I had going to the car wash for just a couple of bird stains.

on the Autoglym. The car shown in this picture is aliti19's '02 with the following done to it:

- Klasse All In One applied by PC and Sonus (Blue) pad
- Autoglym Gloss Enhancing Paint Protection
- Pinnacle Souveran

In person, this car was shinier than Darth Vader's helmet. One of the attendees at the detailing meet described it as "permanently dipped in wet."
