Invisigard / Clear Shield for Fogs

THought I'd try posting this here first.....

Anyone know a good/cheap source for 3M invisigard / ClearBra material??

I'm installing a new set of fog lamps and would like to give them a durable clear shield before they get messed-up again like the stockers.

if anybody has a good source for this material or something similar, please chime-in!

Thanks,
gr

There's a place called Best skins ever that sells protective Clear Bra type material for Ipods and media players. This stuff looks and feels exactly like the Clear Bra material on my Maxima. Anyway they sell it in 9"x3.75" sections for $6.99. I don't know if that's big enough or not though.

There is a member on this forum (S/N 2002 Maxima SE) that used to sell this stuff pre-cut to fit the 5.5gen fogs. I bought some 4 years ago and it's still holding up pretty well, although one of my foglights still cracked from the heat.

I am not sure if he is still selling this stuff or not.

Qwik Bump: anyone else know of any vendors selling small quantities??

I've found one that sells a headlamp/foglamp kit for $30....but I'm not too interested in covering the headlamps at this point!

I caved and bought the $30 kit for the lamps & fogs from Invisiblemask.
I'll post-up my impressions when I get it installed next week....if anyone cares.;)

Will do.

It's supposed to be 8 mil vs. some of the thicker 15 mil stuff....some say that thicker material on the lights can hold-in more heat.
I've also heard some say that the heat from HID's will crack the glass on the fogs....but I don't really believe it.
Time will tell.

DONE!

Took all of five minutes for each, and I was being anal....

Very simple install since they are small pieces: use a little soapy water to center on the fogs, and then just squeegy with a credit card or the like.
Done.

I won't know how good the protective factor is until I drive a few thousand miles - so i'll have to post-up future tense!

Not sure if this stuff will stop a rock from cracking the glass, but it should keep the lense from getting the typical peppering and sandblasting that marrs the surface.
I'll install the headlamp film another day - it's more involved, but similarly easy, I'm sure.

For the $$$, it seems to be a reasonable deal -- comparitively speaking to other kits.

my 2c.
