I think I'm detail-retarded...

Let me preface this by saying that I draw satisfaction from a good car wash and vacuum, but I cannot polish to save my life. Here's what happened.

I picked up a bottle of Nu-Finish or whatever, and thought I'd try it on my front bumper. (It has a lot of chips, nicks and scratches that are pretty deep) so I start rubbing and the polish gets stuck in the scratches. Question, how do I get it out? Claybar? Rubbing compound?

Any help would be appreciated.

Give it another wash with a good, clean, soft washing mitt and scrub lightly where the compound has gotten into, or use a compressed air...or a tooth-pick :gapteeth:

a horse hair brush will do the job

lol ^^^ is right. dont get the abrasive brushes, but the horse hair brush. you might have to live with it in there for a while. those things are tough lil suckers. eventually they'll come off tho.

try some spray detailer and Q-tips.

and next time make sure that your polish won't leave white residue.

Like all the others guys said just give it a good washing and after its dry just go in there with either some q tips or a toothpick inside of a soft cloth to take out any remaining residue.

OR, repaint the bumper and you'll look like this.....http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...2/DSC_0736.jpg
