Looking for a good compound
I am lookin for a good compound to remove swirl marks and fine scratches
Before i wax my black car. This will be used with a 6in orbital pad. |
Meguiars Ultimate Compound has worked for me. Make sure to claybar (or equivalent) first.

Try autogeek and Meguiars to read up on what you want to use. Here's a link for example
http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...-surprise-you! By the way I have used all Meg's products and love them. I have used the ultimate line UC UP and UW. The compound is pretty aggressive so if it's light I would try polish with a medium cutting pad to light pad and go from there. You will definitely need to polish after compounding if you go this route. Good luck and here's a couple of pics from my fall '14 session. My '10 got nano polish and wax, my '14 just a nano and wax. Definitely do decontam your car first. My 10 Attachment 18339 My 14 Attachment 18340 |
wouldn't a light cut compound do the job as a clay bar and also remove fine scratches. Like a 1000 fine cut 3M product
There are so many different ways its mind boggling |
Sure. That's more like a polish and then use a polish or a light pad to start. You'd be amazed at what the cloying will get off to start. 3M is good stuff too. Really it's the operator more than the product...as long as it's the right product. Good luck with it.

i wish this weather breaks.

I use Megs Ultimate compound or M105, depending how severe the defect are.
