Blotches on Paint

Hi guys, I have some mysterious blotches on my paint that doesn't even get out with hand polishing and waxing. Pic below.

What can cause this, and will a high-speed polish restore it? I have it only on my roof and hood. You can't see it unless you're observant and up close, but it still feels smooth.

Thanks in advance.

That is your paint becoming oxidized fro the sun. Is it safe to assume the car has not really been treated with wax or sealant throughout it's life??

Sometimes you have to get a machine polisher and an aggressive polish to remove it.. Extreme cases you have to sand it and them polish it out.

Thanks for your response, especially someone from sunny Georgia.

Quite the opposite. I wash the car weekly from April to November (until it's consistently snowy) and use Autoglym Super Resin Polish a few times throughout the summer. This is why this confuses me, though maybe it's just aging paint being a 13 year-old daily driver in Northeast climates.

It could be but remember, a polish isn't the same as a wax or a sealant. A polish is used to remove defects from the paint which is then removed with a Microfiber cloth then a wax or sealant is used to protect the area.

If you ever get it out post it here and let us know what you did.
