Got my Auto max dynoed

Well I dont know to much about dynoing. We had a group deal in the dc section and I decided to try it out. My highest run was 170.1hp and 183.4tq. I'm guessing thats pretty good for an auto max but I dont know. My power mods are a budget y-pipe, budget high flow cat and custom hybrid intake. Heres the chart.

excellent power for your mods

airf/fuel looks straight

ajcool2 04-09-2006 10:34 PM

Cool sounds like everything is in good shape.

Wow.. I want your A/F ratio. That's crazy straight!

I'm guessing this means my car is getting the right mix of air and fuel and the correct time?

Yup, you may also be able to squeeze a little more power in some spots by leaning it out a bit.

Nice numbers and nice work on the car; it looks great in person. I didn't get to talk to you at all on Saturday, but I'll see ya around at other DC Max meets.

I'll see about leaning it out. Thanks alot for setting this up. I never thought I would ever get my car dynoed. I did get there alittle late but I'll definatly catch up with you at some of the other meets.

Here is the video of my Dyno runs.

Wow that is the flattest A/F I've seen on a un-tuned max.

Damn nice!

Now for a VI

The power seems correct, and the a/f..I wouldn't know.

mindlessoath 05-08-2006 03:42 PM

i ran 152hp in my automax. i have CE y-pipe stillen exuast and the box intake.
i think thats rather low but i was running way to rich.

from the look of yours, it looks like you have alot more air than fuel (or maybe im a noob who doesnt know how to read dyno charts?). so your lean and need to run a tad more fuel.

am i wrong for thinking that? how do you determain the air/fuel section of the sheet?

according to his chart, he is running rich in most of the rpms. about 5250-5500 is his best section. above 13.0 and below 14 would be considered healthy for all motor as long as the car was in good running condition, using 91/93 octane, etc. i have my own car tuned around 13.5 to 14.0 with no detonation. there would be power to gain by using an afc, emanage product to lean and smooth out the a/f curve.

Is the only way to change my A/F ratio with a AFC? I'm going to look into an EU. I dont know much about them so I guess I got some research to do. If I did push my ratio up to about 13 or so could it cause any problems at all. Also would the gains be worth it?

mindlessoath 05-09-2006 10:42 AM

what are some recomended AFC's? i would like to change my ratio at will.
i seen this product http://www.blazt.biz/
im not sure if this would be good, but its cheap if you already have a laptop (i dont so it would be expensive for me). im looking for something kinda cheap, not the 300$+ ones from apex.

anyways, here is my automax dyno... please someone comment on it. i didnt run it with the K&N air filter so its just the stock airbox, i just added the k&n again (took it off for the winter)... what do you guys think that might help/?

the majority of people use apexi's vafc I/II and safc I/II. your dyno is very rich. you would definetely benefit from an afc. i dont have any experience with the product you linked. i would shoot for 13.5.

mindlessoath 05-09-2006 01:46 PM

without an afc what are some options i have to tune this? i was going to get new oxigen sensors and i just put on the old K&N stillen cone filter. any other options?

the maf controls a/f @ wot at least on 5th gens and i am assuming this is same for you. the o2 sensors and maf both determine a/f only at partial throttle. the intake will likely help lean it out some.
