WTF: 181whp, 173lbs tq??????????

(#'s maybe off since the dyno is crumpled in my car from being pissed)
I went to a shop in Toronto called Redline where another club had a group thing going today.

I pulled 181whp (which is almost stock!!!!) and 175whp torque. INSANE. These guys do not know how to dyno an auto car. "Has to be done in D". Do i track my car on D so I could careless, this caused insane torque converter lock up. I'd rather pay and go to a reputable shop next. plus they gave me a print out of my torque curve not my HP to show the drop off. Plus the Torque curve was bouncing 400 at even 756lbs!!!!! How stupid is that. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Also they were saying they weren't connecting to the coils properly. I should have easily seen at least a 230 dyno. I'll post the plots later.

They didn't give me my HP plot just torque so I emailed them to get a proper graph.

Now I'm embarrased. Honda guys had a good laugh at me.

Sorry I'm a newb to dyno's but

I see you have a vb mod are you able to hold it in 2nd gear, if so dyno that way, if not take it somewhere else

my buddy dyno'd a auto and they had a hard time getting the car to go wot without shifting

This is another reason I love my Shift_Fast_3 mod - lock it in third and dyno!

Its easy to dyno an auto, people make a big deal out of it. When we did mine, we put it in D with O/D off. Brought it up to 65 i believe and eased into the gas to WOT. Dont just mash the gas. It never kicked down for me.

When O/D is off in 3rd gear the tourqe converter locks up i believe.

Yep. Hopefully I can get my scanner to work. I'll be going somewhere else so I'm not worried as I know these numbers are very inaccurate.

Yeah do what Ray suggested and go to DL. THere's no way that engine should be under 200whp even with an auto, and we know the VIAS works.

After the first run the guy was saying that the coil packs were not reading properly (causing the fluctuating torque #'s). Yet they failed to fix it.

Also another thing was after telling the guy, he didn't activate the oil pressure cutoff and I had to tell him again.

Hopefully I get to DL soon and get proper numbers.

Yet another thread illustrating why dyno numbers should not be taken too seriously. My old 96 put down virtually identical dyno numbers.

Yes i agree with Neal. The first time i dynoed my car, i put down almost the exact thing 182whp/173wtq. Given my MEVI was tied open, i had also done 12-14 back to back runs.

Came home very dissapointed, i knew the numbers couldnt have been right when i ran a 14.2@99 on street tires..went to a differant dyno (Dynojet 248C still) and put down 197whp/190wtq.

We all know your engine is capable of 220+ WHP through an auto!!

No graphs, runfiels, type of dyno, etc? Also, people would know how to dyno an auto of they read my dyno thread.

Why would I post corrected numbers that are in-accurate? I will repost when I have a dyno done properly and that may not even be this year.
