Here are my numbers! I'm satisfied for now.

A/F map files

Mods?

Numbers are okay...needs more tuning, lean spike at 3600 rpm and your AFR is jumping all over the place.

I messed up my first run and didnt record record the map... I guess i was too excited cuz it was my first dyno. The second run the LM1 gave me a wierd *** error, but I got a chance to record it when it was hitting 4500rpm... third pull-didnt want to mess with what i DID NOT record, so I just tuned 4500rpm on up. Looking to go back soon. I just want to make some changes to my set up.

Sad to say, everything was a last minute thing... I tried to street tune on my way out, but once I got there, the car got put on the dyno right away. I really just wanted to see what it was putting out the way it sat that day.
I was kind of neglecting the MAx and about to quit on it to start my Datsun project, but i'm now thinking of selling the Datsun to invest more in the Maxima.
decisions! decisions!

That seems way low to me, but since it's a swap, is that the numbers they normally put out?

not sure.... I believe its about 300 or a little less at the crank. IIRC, WHP, is 25% of the actual crank hp. i could be wrong though.
I think its low for a 3.5 myself, but I havent really paid attention to other 3.5's dyno numbers.

Sorry, not correct on a FWD car. FWD and RWD is ~10-15% drivetrain loss. AWD is ~20-25%. For example, a Legacy GT has 250hp at the crank and puts down 190whp. A G37 coupe is 330 at the crank and puts down slightly under 300whp.

oh!

LOL! we'll see next time if I can improve on the numbers.
I could sit here and make excuses of what might have happened, or whats currently wrong with the car, etc. but it is what it is. I was just excited to finally get the car dyno'd.

You can NOT compare numbers from different types of dynos. This isn't a Dynojet guys, so comparing these numbers to dynojet numbers is pointless.

The thing I'm seeing is that if that AFR is accurate (which dyno AFRs are not always) you need to richen it up to low 13s to high 12s and it looks to me like the operator let off at about 6000rpm. If so it looks like your power was still climbing. Do you know if he took it all the way to redline or not?

The chart does look like it was cut off at 6000rpm... dunno why!? But playing back the A/F log, it shows he went to 6400rpm. I did notice it was still peaking and I mentioned this in my other thread.

OF course you cant compare dynos... this was on a Mustang dyno.
They advised me to make it rich because of the dyno runs, but like I said, i didnt really get a chance to really fine tune it.

Oh well.... there's always next time!

Haha yeah your numbers would be higher if it was taken to redline. Thats really wierd how the operator let off so early. Also your torque seems way low.

tune the car in the 12.8-13.2 range and till the dyno guy to stay in the gas till he hits the limiter

btw I would use the same dyno so you can compare your changes

SSIM... i wish i hadnt done it. I'm going to get a stock manifold and just do the VIAS delete.

Thanks for all the comments guys... both good and bad.
And yeah, i'll stay using this dyno. The guys at the shop are cool guys. There are two more dynos within the area, but not sure what kind of dynos they are.

congrats on FINALLY taking it to the dyno to see where everything stood. The numbers are really nothing to be impressed at, but like said previously, those numbers cannot be compared solidly as they are Mustang dyno #s. You'd have to get it on a DJ and get SAE #s in order to do a proper apples to apples comparison on other swap results here.

Cant wait to see what sort of results you get from proper tuning!... Possibly an upgrade to an EU when the Datsun is sold to bump that timing and extend that redline to really take advantage of that SSIM!!!!!

Keep it going man! Good progress so far!

I'd have to drive down to San Antonio to come close to 12's. There is no way in hell i'd be in the 12's in El Paso. elevation kills!

That dyno is dependant on the input parameters, i.e. vehicle weight, drag, etc. I may have said it before, but Mustang Dynos are great for tuning since they apply load proportional to the speed of the car to depict real world conditions (i.e drag). But if the vehicle isn't modeled correctly, and modeling values haven't been established for your particular car, then, what the operator may have assumed, could be very misleading. Our cars aren't very big in the speed/tuning world so an accurate model, IMO, has not been established as of yet...Probably wont ever be.

But, your numbers do seem fairly on par ... if you are indeed comparing them to a DJ.

Becuase they have proven to give better gains. I believe about 10whp on a 3.5.
