Schmelly's VQ35 Swap Dyno

1 Attachment(s)
Finally got a chance to dyno the swap today. I decided to spring the extra $10 for an AFR reading since my EU is disconnected. Grand total: $30 for two pulls.

Same shop/dyno I used for my previous pulls with the 3.0.

Minor changes that might affect readings:
~New tires 245/50R16.
~Finally had the car aligned after the swap.

Current setup:
+02 VQ35 w/3.0 timing, DE-K Injectors & FPR, return fuel setup
+Stock 5th gen intake w/ bomz cone filter
+PFTB
+NWP BOP
+NWP 5pc spacers
+Altima headers w/ 3" y pipe back

VQ30 Spark Plugs :tard:

Fuel and timing are bone stock, no adjustments made.

I've only been swapped for 8 months now.

Nice #s for the mods.

Is this a baseline for other things like a more agressive tune, larger intake, etc. ??

I plan to go back and rent some dyno time to test a bunch of parts. SSIM, MAF, Intake, TB and maybe the stock VIAS depending how well the tune helps my low end because the power sucks under 3700rpm.

Nice Numbers man...:D

Damn, still a decent amount of time. Nice work man, I want to learn how to do engine swaps one day

6 speed swap it with an '04+ Sentra SpecV and get that 4.1 FD. :ben:

Let me know if you find the hook up on a timing ring for it. :nervous:

nice..

t6378tp Oct 31, 2013 05:05 AM

nice #'s just need to lean it out alittle and throw some timing at it and get the mid 240 range, maybe even 250

NmexMAX Oct 31, 2013 06:47 AM

I bet that thing boogies! Thanks Johnathan.

My goal is 270 before heads/cams if I do go that route. Whether or not it's attainable, I'll find out one way or another.

:chuckle:

Quick and dirty I want the car running intake. I chopped off the MAF flanges a while back so I couldn't use the 5th gen airbox as well.

Ahhh, I made a lot of power (233/231) with minimal mods with my JWT set-up just like that, headers, & 17ºBTDC.

Hoepfully you've got a V-stack in there. :D

schmellyfart Oct 31, 2013 11:06 AM

Nope, its just a cheap 3" filter that came with my eBay sri years ago.

Either way, that's the best bang for the buck before starting the modded MAF scheme. In my experience anyway.

schmellyfart Nov 2, 2013 07:11 PM

I have a couple velocity stacks sitting in the garage. Just need to get some ECU wiring issues sorted out before I can do any tuning.
