simple quick question...
 
i just changed my oil to Mobil 1 SuperSyn 5W/30 + Nissan OEM 15208-9E000 oil filter with 95k on it.

1. how often should i change the OEM oil filter? (i heard they last for 15k)
2. if the OEM oil filter last for 15k, how often should i change my oil? (every 5k as bill suggested in the sticky?)

Who told you the OEM OIL filter lasted 15k???? That's just absurd. I hope you are confusing an oil filter with a fuel filter. AN OEM oil filter is supposed to last just 3k, but if you do oil analyses on your car you may be able to squeeze 5k out of it.

The recommendations are listed so that this question doesn't need to be asked and are the result of lab results.


Of course, special circumstances do warrant further questioning, but until an oil analysis is taken those "quick reference" suggestions in the sticky should be heeded.
