15208-9E000 filter and other oil Q's
I read the 15208-9E000 is better than the newer 15208-65F00. But on the Jerry Rome Nissan site 15208-9E000 filter is for 1995-2001. and the newer 1520865F00 is listed for 2002-2004. Does this matter? They're the same engine right? I read on one site that the new one's "filter element" may be better though.
Also, my slaesman recommended I at least have my first oil cange done at the dealer so they can check it over, how its breaking in. Fine, I'll do that, but reading on here and talking to others, I may change it myslef at 1000. That'll be by next week (and only 3 weeks old). Anyone else have the dealer do their first change? What oil does the dealer use? I'm thinking of using Castrol GTX for awhile, changing every 3750. Then maybe at 10k i'll switch to Mobil 1. Probably will keep the same changing rate, not sure. That or change oil once a year (10-12k) and filter twice a year. Most importantly: Will the 15208-9E000 fit on my 2004? |
15208-9E000 is a longer filter with metal end caps.
15208-65F00 is smaller filter with cardboard endcaps. When you go to the dealer just ask them to use the bigger one. It fits perfectly fine and is a better filter at the same price. |
