Shifts feel notchy durning day's first drive.

So yeah, my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are always notchy during the first drive of the day. After I turn off the car and let it sit a while it drives fine after that. I got some amsoil synthetic and put it in yesterday thinking it would help out, it didn't. No matter how slowly I release the clutch, it always bites hard and jerks the car. Would bleeding the clutch help? I don't really see how but would it?

More info. Worn clutch? Slave not bled right? Needs adjustment?

Sorry Jeffy. I just got the car august and have been trying to get all the maintanance/winterizing stuff done. The clutch seems fine and the guy said he just put a new one is less than a year ago, it doesn't feel like it slips. Haven't gotten to bleeding the cluch yet so I guess that is a possibility. Adjustment? You mean adjustment of the pedal? Didn't really consider that but I guess it makes sense. Adjusting the pedal also changes the catch/release point right?

You sure it isn't just the colder weather? My tranny is a ***** to shift in the winter when the car is cold.

It was like this back in august and sept too. I thought synthetic was supposed to lessen the notchiness a little? I asked a buddy and he said it's not any different at first than after a while of driving, maybe he's just used to it. I was thinking that maybe cause the trans isn't warmed up it was happening. I'll try bleeding it and adjusting the clutch, we'll see what happens.

My shifts are notchy, too

I always thought that was just the deal with the nissan manual. My clutch actions seems to be getting closer and closer to the floor, and I wonder what that is a symptom of? Is that something that can be adjusted easily? I have 120 K miles on it.
