Mobil-1 back on store shelves?

A few weeks ago tried to buy Mobil-1 at PepBoys and Autozone and it was sold out. Came to find out there has been a shortage because of production problems since the fall.

Anyone know if or when it will be back on store shelves?

What are Mobil-1 fans using in it's place??

Just checked the Mobil-1 site to see if I could answer my own question and it looks like there may still be a production problem.

On the bright side, Mobil-1 is offering a $10 off rebate, because of the shortage, if you buy between 4/1/09-8/31/09!

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/.../Homepage.aspx

I signed up and printed two rebate forms. I'll take $20 off any day!

Ha!
I bought a jug back in the Fall from Wally-world....JUST put it in the other day!
Glad I "bought-ahead" of the shortage!
I'm good for another 5k miles now!

Had some trouble finding an M1 oil filter though....and the price went-up from $9.99 to $13.99!!

That sucks. Still not changing my brand though....maybe amsoil -- M A Y B E.

How up to date is this information on Mobil's website? It says the shortage is due to Hurricane Ike...which was quite some time ago...

Not that long ago. Ike hit Sept 2008 and apparently disrupted the plant that makes the chemical oil compontents of Mobil-1

All oil companies are cutting back production (not because of some bs hurricane, but the drop in crude price/demand). I personally went to Autozone to try and get some and they were sold out, drove a mile and a half down the road and got it at advanced auto and they had plenty

I buy Mobil -1 all the time because I drive a ton and change my oil, what seems like, constantly. I haven't even noticed a shortage or lack of stock anywhere around me. (Florida)

Well early in April I changed my oil...still could not find Mobil-1 EP in the 5 gallon jugs so got regular Mobil-1 instead.
