Safe to switch to full synthetic after 40k miles?

I've been using regular oil in my car and I'm at 40k miles and I want to begin doing the oil changes myself, is it safe to switch to full synthetic after 40k miles? Thanks in advance.

i switched at 30k. only because i wanted to use my conventional oil up free from rebates.

only time synthetic "appears" to show an issue with mileage is with old cars with worn seals that are "sealed" with grime. The synthetic can clean them so well the worn seals are exposed and leak.

Synthetic can be used at any mileage. Can even switch back and forth with conventional oil, but suggested to choose one and stick with it. Though with today's excellent conventional oils, I highly doubt that is even a concern anymore.

Have been using Mobil1 5W-30 EP for 7500 changes. One more of that then switching to Mobil 1 0w-40 for 7500 changes since so many are seeing great results with it in the VQ3.5

I have been using Mobil1 5W-30 EP tpp, but for 10000 changes. I even want to go 12500k. But haven't made up my mind yet.

At 40k, there is no problem at all. Some people even switch as much as 80k or more even.
