TC-W3 marine two stroke oil as a gasoline additive - NEW
So after the last thread on this here disappeared, let's get another one going.
http://www.ls1.com/forums/f48/been-testing-91206/
^^ the original thread over on LS1.com, with research and oil analyses and what-not...
But the gist of it is this:
*adding ONE OUNCE of TC-W3 rated 2-stroke marine oil to 4/5 GALLONS of gas at each fillup does wonders for our vehicles.
* TC-W3 is ashless, so it's clean burning.
*Smoothes out and quiets down the engine. I have PERSONALLY taken decibel readings both before and after adding TC-W3 to my gas tank, and the engine runs 9dB quieter at idle. About 15 percent quieter, that's verified!
*Also, it has been reported that some users get better mileage with it ( I personally do not, but I tend to drive on the energetic side anyhow)
*Cleans out the injectors and top end of carbon and deposits
*lubricates the fuel delivery system
*does NOT harm O2 sensors / catalytic converters / emissions equipment at all.
*reduced hydrocarbon emissions (CLEANER EXHAUST)
It is available at auto parts stores, Wal-mart...wherever. The ONLY stipulation is that it has to be TC-W3 rated. Brand is not relevant.
It's cheaper than MMO, techron cleaner, seafoam...all of it.

Glad this thread is back! I have been using this for almost a full tank now. I seem to notice a jump in MPG'S. I did, however, get a code last night when my gas tank needle hit the 1/4 tank mark. CEL code was p0440...evap leak, gas cap, ect. My question is this wouldn't be related to the use of tc-w3, would it?

Thanks for this post guys, I am going out in a little while to fill my second tank of gas running this mixture. However, even in the first tank my MPG's were 1-2 better and my idle was MUCH smoother! My dad is going to try this in his 2000 Mazda MPV V6 soon.

I just measured out 3oz with a seringe I had and put tape on a bottle in my garage so I don't have to keep measuring out over and over. When I'm ready to refill the bottle, I just pour until it reaches the tape marker.

So I plan on doing my first treatment with this stuff tmrw. I cannot wait to "experience the silk." I have one question though, is there any limitation to how many times you add TC-W3 per fill up? Can you do it every time you fill up or just a once in a while kind of thing?

Make sure you do the math is all.
1oz every 4-5 gallons.

Read the first post.

It's going into your gas tank and then to the engine to be burned off. Synthetic is a waste of money IMO.

I know that both have been used and reported similar results.

All that matters if that the two stroke oil has the TC-W3 rating. Fully synthetic or not, it's not relevant. So long as it states TC-W3 on the label you're fine. The rest is a matter of personal preference, plain and simple
