TC-W3 marine two stroke oil as a gasoline additive - NEW

So after the last thread on this here disappeared, let's get another one going.

http://www.ls1.com/forums/f48/been-testing-91206/

^^ the original thread over on LS1.com, with research and oil analyses and what-not...

But the gist of it is this:

*adding ONE OUNCE of TC-W3 rated 2-stroke marine oil to 4/5 GALLONS of gas at each fillup does wonders for our vehicles.

* TC-W3 is ashless, so it's clean burning.

*Smoothes out and quiets down the engine. I have PERSONALLY taken decibel readings both before and after adding TC-W3 to my gas tank, and the engine runs 9dB quieter at idle. About 15 percent quieter, that's verified!

*Also, it has been reported that some users get better mileage with it ( I personally do not, but I tend to drive on the energetic side anyhow)

*Cleans out the injectors and top end of carbon and deposits

*lubricates the fuel delivery system

*does NOT harm O2 sensors / catalytic converters / emissions equipment at all.

*reduced hydrocarbon emissions (CLEANER EXHAUST)

It is available at auto parts stores, Wal-mart...wherever. The ONLY stipulation is that it has to be TC-W3 rated. Brand is not relevant.

It's cheaper than MMO, techron cleaner, seafoam...all of it.

DanNY 05-06-2013 10:59 AM

thread stuck. sorry about the previous thread. it was deleted by accident when we were removing spam.

Amerikaner83 05-06-2013 11:07 AM

no worries, and thanks! :wavey:

pMax6r 05-06-2013 12:09 PM

Glad this thread is back! I have been using this for almost a full tank now. I seem to notice a jump in MPG'S. I did, however, get a code last night when my gas tank needle hit the 1/4 tank mark. CEL code was p0440...evap leak, gas cap, ect. My question is this wouldn't be related to the use of tc-w3, would it?

Amerikaner83 05-06-2013 12:33 PM

no it would not. The TC-W3 lubricates the hoses and internals so it was bound to happen regardless.

Darn, I figured it was just a coincidence too. Thanks.

Amerikaner83 05-06-2013 12:51 PM

sure thing. CELs do suck though :sadpace:

DjHackStyle 05-06-2013 06:33 PM

Glad its back

T_Behr904 05-09-2013 09:30 AM

Glad to have this thread back. Sucks the last one was deleted by accident.

DrewSER 05-10-2013 10:19 AM

I'm glad to see this discussion restarted and finally get the sticky treatmant. I'm still running this with positive results and decided a while ago to include my lawn mowers, snow blower, etc..

Amerikaner83 05-10-2013 02:55 PM

I should do it to my wife's Outback...damn I keep saying it but never get around to it.

Still averaging 23-25mpg in mixed driving with this stuff....and dead silent injectors!

Mr. Blue Sky 05-11-2013 12:59 AM

maxima has been doing well for the last several thousand miles, and 6 or more tanks. didn't quiet anything down because my exhaust is loud.

deezo 05-17-2013 11:28 AM

I'm almost at 350k miles and it's still running nice and smooth with this additive.

Amerikaner83 05-17-2013 11:30 AM

how's it doing in the G8?

Diablo2424 05-18-2013 01:22 PM

Thanks for this post guys, I am going out in a little while to fill my second tank of gas running this mixture. However, even in the first tank my MPG's were 1-2 better and my idle was MUCH smoother! My dad is going to try this in his 2000 Mazda MPV V6 soon.

schmellyfart 05-18-2013 05:13 PM

Thinking about starting this on my next fill up. What do you guys use to measure and pour it into the gas tank?

I use a lucas fuel treatment bottle over and over.
Used a glass beaker to measure out 1oz at a time and then marked the bottle accordingly.

I just measured out 3oz with a seringe I had and put tape on a bottle in my garage so I don't have to keep measuring out over and over. When I'm ready to refill the bottle, I just pour until it reaches the tape marker.

schmellyfart 05-20-2013 06:19 PM

Thanks guys, I'll take a look around and see what I have to work with.

I haven't added any to the G8 is a few months because I haven't been driving it. I'm taking it to Miami next week for vacation so on my next fillup before I hit the road, I'll be using it again. It definitely smooths out the idle nicely.

99maxwell 05-23-2013 10:07 PM

So I plan on doing my first treatment with this stuff tmrw. I cannot wait to "experience the silk." I have one question though, is there any limitation to how many times you add TC-W3 per fill up? Can you do it every time you fill up or just a once in a while kind of thing?

All the time is best.
Make sure you do the math is all.
1oz every 4-5 gallons. :)

I found the perfect slogan: TC-W3. The God Particle of Fuel system additives.

It's going into your gas tank and then to the engine to be burned off. Synthetic is a waste of money IMO.

You a non-believer?
TC-W3 is full synthetic.

OK. Let me clarify: the oil that TC-W3 is packaged IMO doesn't benefit from being synthetic.

Walmart SuperTech is regular dino 2 cycle motor
oil that contains the synthetic molecule TC-W3 inside it. Get it?

I haven't looked into that, but I hear you.

I know that both have been used and reported similar results.

There. You just proved my point. Why pay extra to get similar results?

You're asking for this to go off topic.
A lot of things have similar results for less money.

Do whatever you want.

Amerikaner83 05-26-2013 01:40 PM

All that matters if that the two stroke oil has the TC-W3 rating. Fully synthetic or not, it's not relevant. So long as it states TC-W3 on the label you're fine. The rest is a matter of personal preference, plain and simple
