That sounds sweet man. I'd totally love the idea of having tons of space to do whatever the fxck you want.

Irish you got me going on that box. I am absolutely in love with Craftsman 40" boxes. I wish they made their 52" boxes with full width drawers but they don't. I picked up the top to match the bottom that I got a couple months ago. Both boxes are almost full already... God I'm a tool feind. I need a lot more variety of tools than I did before because I'm working on this truck now. Everything is bigger and more odd. Ford seems to require quite a few specialized tools as opposed to being able to fully strip every modern Nissan with a 10,12,14,17 and 19mm sockets. Plus I'm getting geared up for a full tube chassis for the 240 so I'm beefing up my fabrication tools.

nice...well be happy you don't have to deal with Jeeps like I do, where basically every bolt has a different size of Torx head...

I finally did the "other side" of the garage (where my wife's car parks).

Had some black paint leftover from the tool bench..

Also, just for you guys, I put up the GT-R poster that Cutler picked up at the auto show and gave to me...

wheels, wheels, wheels...

Ballin'.

Ah, tell me about it. I HATE TORX! If I ever meet the guy that invented it I'll kill him.

I like the little wall mounted storage drawers you've got. The bottom one. Where'd you get it?

man, I don't recall. Had those things forever. I mostly just keep electrical connectors in the drawers. I'm sure I got it at Sears, can't think of any other place I would have bought something like that, but it was probably 5-6 years ago.

I'm making it a policy that every time I undo a torx bolt from the Jeep, I go ahead and replace it with a standard-head bolt when I reinstall....

took some pic while I was changing oil and putting stickers on, I have to get it all set up yet. I just moved in, most of the stuff is the room mates.

I have my Maxima in there now instead of my buddy's talon. Plus, we had just moved in and it was still junky. I'm working on making it nice and organized, but I have a severe budget.

^^ that just doesn't seem fair!

I've thought many times about bringing cars through the double doors in my basement. It could fit 2 or 3. But it would mess up the carpet

Finally getting around to mine, but it's not pretty. I don't have the free time to organize and buy pretty little shelves. I just pile it all in the corner.

The whole ugly garage, with parts and tools strewn all over as I was ripping out sheetrock to chase termites. (long story, don't ask.)

Workbench, powdercoater, sandblaster, and the engine I blew up at Maxus 05...

Paneling?!?! Yes, it'll be coming down when I get the time.

Random parts on shelf. some waiting to go on cars, some waiting for ebay..

Where I actually get to work. nice shade tree and plenty of room to work around the cars... Future plans include extending the garage out to cover that entire concrete pad. That'll add 4 covered spots inside the garage.

I also have about 300ft of driveway behind it for additional parking.

Heh.. you might be able to see it next summer...
I cut down the three bushes at the front corner of the drive, the huge rotten tree in the center of that pic, half the willow tree on the right side, and all three shrubs on the far left edge. all were severely diseased and caused problems being able to see in/out of the driveway. the willow tree was rotting and huge branches were falling on the driveway every time we'd have a rainstorm.

so it came down.... time for a bonfire!!

The two bay garage behind the Megacab is going to stay a wood working area, we just sprayed the shop and will be moving all the tools/equipment back in (and some of it finally in) this next week or so

My dads 92 Silverado 1500 fits without any issues...so it's pretty high. I'm not sure exactly.

My uncle is an architect in Ukraine and we had plans drawn up. The garage was a PAIN IN THE *** to build (it's bigger than our old house actually) because it required steel beams, welding, a strong foundation, etc....but me, my dad, and my two older brothers got it down with no outside help. Boy did all that back breaking work pay off.

You did all that glass block by yoursevles.

Alot of work and not cheap.

Does it give alot of solar heat in the winter. Glass block is not the greatest in cold climates.

You do have a one of a kind garage there.

Yeah it was a crap load worth of work...my dad is a master mason with like 40 years of experience...and he also graduated from engineering/technical school back in Ukraine (I'm Ukrainian born, moved here in 89). Me and my two brothers were just helpers.

It's not particularly warm in the winter or summer (it's always cool in the garage) but we have a heater for the winter so...no worries.

I am just waiting for him to move some old junk out and then I'll start organizing the stuff personally.

I envy all of you....my garage is barely big enough to fit my Maxima in, let alone work on it. I have to pull it out of the garage before anyone else can get in it. Argghh...makes me want to go buy a house with a big garage, or at least a big lot where I can build my own garage.

It took me a year of living with the parents till I finally found my place. I don't know who was happier, me or them. If you go looking, know in your mind what you are looking for and go find it. If you can swing it, I would work the cost of a shop or garage into the financing of the new house.

This past fall/winter I completely gutted my parents garage and insulated it. I cleaned it top to bottom, attic and all. It was full to the brim-to the point where a car wouldnt fit. I filled the dumpster at work at least 2 dozen times. It literally took me 1 month working everyday from 4-11 just to clear everything out.

11/06:

I could just barely scrounge enough room to fit my car back then

Sweet bench, you jealous?

Spring 08:
I built a bench shortly after cleaning the garage and set up some decent shelving.

Yes its also a band room.

Not to long ago I picked up a Kobalt bench for more work space. Well worth the $80 clearance price

Made some more room for another car

Today I got 2 Kobalt ball bearing 26" tool chests, top and middle. Basically the same thing as the red Craftsman stuff I had, good enough for me. Next on the list is a compressor and sheet rock.

fanaticrockford: You saved me lots of frustration. I dont know how you pressed yours in cuz my drilling hammer didnt work. I used my car as a press. I jacked up the sentra, placed the mount under the tire, and used the weight of the car to press them in. Now I just need to put them on the car.
