2010 Maxima Tail lights issue
Hi, I am new to this group, hope someone can help me with a strange tail light issue.
The tail lights do not work, but the brake light works fine. As long as I replace the tail light fuse, it burn out when I turn on the head light. If I disconnect the both tail lights, and plug it back without starting the car, the tail lights actually work. But if I start the car, the fuse will blown and it will blown every time I install a new fuse. So, disconnecting the two tail lights somehow "reset" the circuit. I tried disconnect the two tail lights and the fuse still blown. I even tried replacing the fuse box (relay junction box), but did not solve the problem. I dont think it is the tail lights are short since the tail light will work when I unplug and "replug" both tail lights when the car is not on. BTW, the dash light for the climate control console does not work either. I think it is in the same circuit. Any guidance or suggestion on where I may be able to find the short is greatly appreciated.
p.s. I having been a DIY mechanic for 20 years, and have access to All data and manufacture menu. Could not find anything related to this in the TSB.
Thanks,
Albert

Hey,
So I realize this post is a few years old and it's a bit of a long shot... But I have a 2010 maxima with the exact same issue as you!! Were you ever able to find a solution to the problem? What did you do to fix it?
Thanks and have a great day.
