How long did your Toyo T1-s's last you?
 

Well it's that time again. Gotta replace my tires. Currently i'm running Kumho 712's in 235/40/18. They lasted me about 15k miles.

Currently i'm favoring the Toyo T1-s over S-03's and the relatively new & untested Yokohama AVS ES100.

Overall I want a good performing tire equal to or greater than that of the kumho both in wet and dry traction and in tread life.

Preferably I'd love for my new set to last me more than 20k. That would be ideal.

Also I want to note that I did preform a search and read almost all the threads on the topic of tires however i'd like to hear more input and of personal experiences with Toyo's.

We'll, my toyo T1-S have just recently become totally bald on the inside edge from camber. The rest of the tire is good for at least another 8000 miles. I think I've had mine on there about 11000 miles. Please keep in mind though that my car is lowered more than 2.5 inches (ground controls) which is lower than most max's are, AND I road race and autoX these tires frequently. Road racing can put 3000 miles of wear on a car in a few hours of track time.

So, what I'm saying is, that with decent camber and more "normal" driving, these tires would last 30K miles. I'm going to have my tires remounted on my wheels so that the worn edge is on the outside, and I think I'll be good with these tires for another 8-9000 miles.

Albert for Toyo T1-S try Radial tires in Silver spring. You might get them as cheap as $150 if they are on special. If not, they are around $200. You might also want to try Evolution motorsports. Bridgestone just came out with their RE730 Generation 2. The specs look good. Treadwear of 300, AA traction and A temp. I'm currently running Dunlop SP9000 and they are as good as the T1S if not a little better. For my next set of tires, I'm going to try either the Falken FK-451 or the Brigdeston RE730 Gen2.

Thanks for the input guys. It looks like I got a little more research to do. I'll be sure to check out radial and evolution.

I'll keep you guys updated on prices and good deals that I may find.

if i wanted the best traction rain or shine i would defenitly get michelins.

I still think the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position are some of the best tires out there. Those are going to be my next tires.

We sell toyo's where I work (Belle Tire). They are a very good tire, but they are a lot softer than the Kumho's, so they will not last any longer or as long as the Kumho's. although they will handle better. I have driven them on several differnt cars and the turn in response feels kind of slow compared to other tires out there, because they are so soft though once in the corner they grip grip grip. If you race or drive really hard I'd recommend a different tire because these will be gone in 10,000 miles. It all depends on how you drive how long the tire will last, if you drive hard no high perf tire will last you 20k. Are the T1-S in the same class of tire as the RE730 or the S-03?

They are above the RE730 and in the same class as the S-03. T1-S and S-03 are classified as Max Performance where the RE730 is Ultra High Performance.

get the T-1S. just rmember that it is not M+S rated, so no use in snow or really cold temperatures. to be honest anything that has the M+S rating usually means that they comprimased a little with the rubber compound to make it work a "little" better in the cold. i do like the the S-03 and Falken Azenis as runners up.
