What mods do you need to make to the fronts ????
Here's a note off of shox.com below Special McPherson strut insert bolted into O.E. ho 8040-1242 Sport |
I've got them and they're great.
You will need to remove the stock strut. Then take a small drill bit and drill the bottom of the strut to relieve pressure of the strut. Then you need to cut approximately 1/2" around the top of the strut and remove the old internals and fluid. This is easily done with a vise and Dremel with a cutting wheel. Then you drill out the bottom of the strut again, but with a large 1/2" drill bit. This hole is where the bolt will connect to the KONI insert and keep it in place. That's all. It's a simple procedure, but it does take time. Tools you really need to make the job easy are Dermel with a cutting wheel and a vise to hold the strut in place. Dave |
For those of us that have the Konis and H&R springs think it is the best daily street suspension set up for the 4th gen Max.
Here are couple urls from other makes that also need some cutting of the OEM struts, but the idea is the same. http://pws.gamewood.net/~mb800/struts/struts.html http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Konis.html |
