Should I save my money for these rims? Found out more info about them, 18x8.5 cp-1's

http://www.discounttire.com/product/...1.sm.large.jpg

-Enkei CP-1's

-18x8.5, 5x114.3 bolt pattern

-24lbs. Not as heavy as I thought, but not light. What do you guys think?

Check out the email I recieved from a website that is selling them (I finally found a place!)

Good News.

1. The size for your vehicle will be 18x8 5 on 114.3 and the weight of each
wheel is approximatly 24lbs
I have checked with my other representatives and come to find out there have
been no complaints on the prior 40 orders we have had on the New Enkei Cp
1we have had.

2. I being the president can gaurantee you and will reserve 4 to be shiped
to you at lightning speed from our Ohio Warehouse on 1/15/03 but they must
be prepaid and ordered no later than 12/20/02

3. This wheel is more popular than I realized and all of our 4 warehouses
the supply has been completly deplinished.

4. On the Customers who order and pay ahead of time before 12/20/02 I have
authorized Winston's Place to send send customers at lightning speed $25 as
our way of saying thank you for there patience and understanding. Out of
the 64 comming in to us 24 qty are still availible in being shiped out on
1/15/03.

Keep in mind I will be boosting (SC arrives monday) so power above 3000 probubly won't be an issue. I am however concerned about initial power in first gear and how bad it would be lagged.

What happened to the other mustang rim knockoffs you got off ebay?

After finding out they weigh 30lbs. each and were selling in another auction for $50 cheaper, I scrubbed them.

I figured it had something to do with the weight. Those were some extremely heavy rims. Did you putthem back on E-bay or just try and drop out of the auction?

Well, since I wasn't the technical winner, I had the choice wether I wanted them or not. I never paid.

i like them personally, i'd try to find alittle lighter than 24 lbs, but that's not bad for 18 x 8.5

There's nothing lighter then 24lbs. in 18x8.5 that suits my tastes and is affordable. Those damn Eagle Alloys 18x8 Saleen replica's were 30lbs. each! I'll just run the 3.125 pulley to compensate for lost power.

Aaron95SE They aren't available in anything but silver powdercoat. They have a small lip but the rim merges into it, so I couldn't get it polished, and I won't have a dark rim w/o a polished lip for contrast.

The guy is willing to sell them to me for $650 shipped. I think i'm gonna go ahead and get them, I really think there going to look great on my car. Welp, there goes my clutch money. :D

so i agree with Jason...

also.. did you order them?

hmmmmm

xHypex Dec 15, 2002 01:13 PM

Do you really need 18x8.5s, or do you just want to run a really wide tire so you feel like you are on the same level as the domestics :P

My Enkei NT03s only weigh about 21 lbs., and the 18x9s weigh in at 23lbs.
http://www.truckstuff.org/wheels/enk...tom_wheels.htm

I almost never see anyone with NT03s, and they are pretty light so I thought I'd fill you in.

Well I like to see what you guys have to say a lot. What's wrong with that? :(

The $650 price is shipped and is a special offer. Normally they go for $180 each + shipping. Only catch is, they won't have wheels to ship till Jan 15th since they are out of stock and on backorder. I am torn and have to mon. evening to decide.

Carnal, Blitz Technospeeds? You've gotta be sh!tting me...I'd rather buy a Supercharger! ..........Oh wait, I did. :D

Weasel Dec 16, 2002 11:06 AM

Craig, stop asking us... you're starting to sound like dmbmaxima did before he bought his wheels. Personally I don't think you should buy wheels until you look at them and think "I don't give a sh*t what those .org monkeys think, these are hot.". Then you can buy them. :)

Jeff92se Dec 16, 2002 11:31 AM

Good lord Craig, I'm surprised you don't ask us which leg you put though your pants first when you get dressed in the morning. Geez.

phenryiv1 Dec 16, 2002 11:57 AM

I like the rims. While the 4th Gen is rounded in many aspects, I think that the angular look of those rims, especially in a nice LARGE size like the 18x8.5, will compliment the max nicely. Many 5 spoke designs (like mine, for instance) are similar to OEM at a glance, but these will be obviously NOT stock in every respect- size, design, and visual impact.

The thing that gets me about posts like this is that it is your car. While is it cool to poll your compatriots for opinions, at the end of the day, you have to run those rims and like them. For $650, it is tough to go wrong- you could always eBay them if you hate them once they are on there. Personally, I like them. But many people hate my rims, so what do I know? What I know is that I like them, despite their "stock-ish" appearance, and that is what matters to me. Even in a tiny size (16") and wothout any real flair, I like the rims. It all comes down to what you want to run on your car. Plain and simple.

That said, I don't know if i would buy from someone who makes up words. From your original post:

"3. This wheel is more popular than I realized and all of our 4 warehouses the supply has been completly deplinished.

Sincerly Winston A. Alexander /President CEO"

:D "Deplinished" is not a word, according to the American Heritage Dictionary...or any other dictionary I could find here at the firm... :D

Which do you think would be better?

1)Right first

2)Left first

3)Simulateously

Should I wear my DC shoe's tommorow, or my Etnies?

1)DC

2)Etnies

Now, the girl I like won't be at school tommorow so I think I am going to let my hair go. I wonder if that's a good choice?

I agree with you, but the thing is they won't be ready till January 15th...THAT'S my dilemma. Dump my saving or what a little and if I still want them & pay $80 more?

If your car not has rims and tires, and if you think that you may wan tthe rims down the road, get them now. I don't know what you would do w/ $80, but I can think of plenty of ways to spend it, max-related or not. It is not like that $650 would earn a lot of interest in the next 30 days. I would get them now. So yo usit on the deal for 30 days, then you get the rims. In the meantime, SPEND the $80 that you save- use it for gas or something. Get some CDs. If you cannot think of that to do with it, my paypal is phenryiv1@cs.com :D

Seriously, like I said before, for $650 it is hard to go wrong, but $650 is more than 10% less than $730, which is what you will pay Jan 15- and that is IF they have not pre-sold their 01.15.03-arriving stock. What if they sell the other 24 sets and you are waiting longer? Just my $0.02...

And don't forget that paypal address, if that money becomes a burdeon!

You have good reasoning...I like the way you think. :) I'll tell you what..I can't give you that 80 bucks, but how about some stillen stickers? I have a spare 300zx stillen race car if ya want it. :shy: But you don't seem like the type to put stickers on his ride. PM me if ya want a sticker.
