Why doesn't the engine compartment get wet when it rains?

I want to get the Injen intake but seeing how it sits right behind the radiator, I'm worried it would be exposed to water when it rains. But I've noticed that the engine compartment is dry even during heavy downpours, so what's the deal? The radiator evaporates the water that quickly?

It's like how your house doesn't get wet when it rains. You know...Roof. For the engine compartment...."Hood" :)

Oh...plus for the rain droplets to travel pass the grill, the AC condensor and then the raditor is not easy. There will be some water during heavy downpour that makes it into the engine bay, but it's very minimal.

I have knomes with squeeges living in my intake tube, so when it rains they come out and dry everything up!

I wouldnt worry about it, Ive had my intake on for almost a year now with no problems as long as your not driving through ponds

Water gets in there. It's just like a light spraying. And since the engine compartment is so hot, what little water that gets in very quickly evaporates.
