Help!! Need to support my husband's habit!

Hi all! I want to surprise my hubby with some stuff for his car this x-mas. He's put this habit (addiction) on-hold this past year so that we could do some other stuff. Now I want him to be able to start getting his car where he wants it to be.

Can anyone direct me to a good site for exteior aftermarket parts? I've been to the links page and there are too many! I figure this is a good place to start, as I don't have to know a lot about the technical stuff with performance enhancement.

Thanks so much!

Lori

You should buy him some new brakes from me.. :)

Sorry, I dunno nothing about exterior mods.. I make them go and stop fast. :D

TofuShop Nov 21, 2003 07:19 AM

You can goto www.RedlineMax.com and get your hubby a set of Hyper Black clears ($45) for the front and a set of Red/White Tail lights ($99) ... if you buy two things from them you can save on shipping

My wife is like that now. I figure I deserve to spoil myself, seeing as how I just got back from Iraq.

Lori,

Your Hubby is a luck guy...check the forsale forum for some parts...I know that squard is selling a front bumper and the brakes from Matt would be a very COOL X-mas gift...trust me! As well as the lights from Redline...Girl u got some work to do...get out the mastercard, and GO SHOPPING!!

MaxWench Nov 21, 2003 08:05 AM

Thanks guys!! I can't imaging why a girl would complain about having a man with a well-kept, stylin' ride! (Although, just make sure you spend some $ on your woman too!!) Plus, I love scootin' around in it for girl's night. :mardi:

TofuShop, thanks for the excellent link! That's exactly what I was looking for, something easy. I think I may even steal his car for a day and install 'em myself! I love taking things apart!

 to you all!!

Ok, you've got a true girlie girl on your hands. What are these? :help:

I've been on a few sites, but they haven't let me search by keyword and I can't find this. Don't mean to be a dumb blonde pain in the @$$ (I'm truely not blonde) but could someone tell me what these are?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=33591

Y-Pipe
http://maxmods.dyndns.org/?MaximaYpipes
i would get the budget one or 200$ warpspeed one

Kevincleff Nov 21, 2003 08:12 PM

the y pipe will give you a few extra horsepower, not a tough install if you are mechanically inclined with air tools. The other two are suspension mods which help the handling of the car. I wish my girlfriend bought me stuff for my car.

BioMaxDDS Nov 21, 2003 08:21 PM

1 word

BODYKIT

maybe 2 words...i don't know :wall:

LatinMax Nov 21, 2003 08:50 PM

Ya I would go with a body kit for him. What kind of limit do you have on his gifts?

95CustomMaxima Nov 22, 2003 10:33 AM

Araffio's Homepage

Look here for some great ideas. For exterior mods I would first get some rims.

95maxrider Nov 22, 2003 11:29 AM

My favorite exterior mods:
1. Red/clear taillights- $100
2. Clear corners (in front bumper)- $30
3. Rims+tires- $500-$2000

Power/ Handling
1. Y pipe- 15 hp- $200-$300
2. Rear Sway Bar- $100

pezking4 Nov 22, 2003 12:05 PM

I think a Stillen bodykit, Red/Clear taillights, and some diamond cut clear corners would be great exterior Christmas gifts.

MaxWench Nov 22, 2003 01:25 PM

I think I'm going to go with the red/ white tail lights and the clear corners for x-mas. This is something I can take over to my friends garage, install and bring home and say "surprise!". I'll leave a few hundred under the tree and he can get whatever else he wants to go with it.

I'll post pics eventually!

Thanks to all of you that haven't blasted me for asking dumb new questions...I know they're dumb and you usually wouldn't put up with them. I'm just working with a small window of time before the holidays. So, thanks for understanding.

Also, thanks for giving me a link to Araffio's hp!! Very nice! Although, I'm slowing going to have to break myself into spending that kind of money on the car. I need a new set of wheels before we go too nutty. (I hate my car!)

Later guys,
L

DanNY - if you really want me to do your taxes, shoot me an email and we can talk about it!!

CullenJ76 Nov 22, 2003 05:37 PM

you gotta talk to my girlfriend and give her some inspiration!

meccanoble Nov 23, 2003 02:26 AM

whats your price range? best exterior mod is a kit and a drop and rims. If your price range is under 1k, get a kit and springs.

psx2dude Nov 27, 2003 12:37 AM

Go take the car and get it Tinted so people can't see what's going on in the backseat
i prefer 5% rear, 20% front

97blackSE Nov 27, 2003 08:10 AM

maxwench<---BEST SCREEN NAME EVER!
I would say some red/clears, a stillen kit, and maybe a drop

Tint was actually a b-day present two years ago. That was the last thing we did to the car.

SXN Nov 30, 2003 07:21 PM
