i think the professionals can steal our car.. it's just a matter of time. any other methods that will work?

IMO the best thing to get is a pager. With enough time a thief can grab anything he wants. Even the best alarms can do squat. The best thing to get are those GPS alarm systems where they can track wherever your car is going and find out when there are breakins.

if thats too expensive, get an alarm with pager, preferably DEI (viper, hornet, clifford, etc.). You wont stop a thief but atleast you'll be warned. What happens from there is all up to you but i see that as the best way to prevent theft....in an affordable manner.

of course there is no way to prevent theft, only deter it. Your best defense is intelligence... never park in an "out of the way" area, try to park in protected or high-traffic areas, get a Lo-Jack sticker and put it in your window.

I've parked my car at the airport a dozen times and never had a problem. I always park in a visible area, and always with the front of the car pressed against a guardrail or wall. My friend *used* to park his slk320 on the top floor way across the lot until someone tried stealing his wheels, then he finally listened to what I've been saying..."parking there is an invitation for trouble. You should park where there are people, or at least the *chance* of people at any minute."

Alarms are a waste of money...when's the last time you paid attention to an alarm blaring in a parking lot?

photochop some police identification and leave it near the ebrake or something. they might think twice ;)

My dad's '96 GLE has a LoJack II and that really did help his car from being stolen. And even if they did steal it, they would have tracked down the car(i'm assuming). But you have to pay a certain amount of $$ every year. I don't know how much but my dad stopped paying. All he has left from the LoJack II is the way he starts his car. He has to move his left mirror to the left side, then he can turn on his car. Other than that, they can't track his car down because he did not pay the $. The LoJack does come with a one year subscription, but after that, you have to pay.

And about the Pager alarms.. My friend had one and that did not wake his a$$ up while he was sleeping and the next morning, he saw the indicators and ran to his car.. and saw that the indicators were correct but he was too late.

alarms are useless. No1 really pays attention. I need a brick.. so i can personally throw it at the thief.
