2nd Generation VB's Available

Currently our valve bodies are designed to greatly improve the 1-2 shift and slightly improve the 2-3. Many of you wanted a firmer 2-3 shift however because of the nissan VB design it wasn't possible. My transmission Tech has been working with Nissans tech support center to develop a new plate for the VB's which would allow us to improve the 2-3 shift. The plates where designed in Dec and are now available. All of our VB's from hereon forth will include this plate. To specify they will be the 2nd generation VB's. Because the plates cost us $25 each to make the price of the 2nd gen VB's will be $400.00 We will be running GD's for these regularly. If you have a 1st gen VB we will upgrade it to a 2nd gen for $150.00. We'll be running a GD for the month of Jan. A minimum of 10 people and the price drops to $350.00 If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me @ (516)676-8470

Hey Jeff, will the 2nd gen VB work on the 5th gen max ? Also I know I have to send my unit first which mean a down time of around a week, can I just buy the VB without swapping mine, otherwise I guess I need to find a loner...

The warranty coverage for my tranny is only few months from being over so I would like to buy the 2nd gen VB but would prefer to install only when warranty is over, what can you do for me. If we can resolve this I will be in for a unit in January.

Cheers

AA

Dude are you joking? I would have thought that you would know the difference. This is a typical newbie question :( Totally different. VB mod = good for tranny life by changing the springs, etc in the valve body to make shifts firmer and quicker (at normal pressure). The drop resistor (NOT A "MOD") is just unplugging a resistor that tells the transmission to shift at full line pressure, basically redline every gear (only good for WOT) and even then, it still performs a soft shift (due to VB internals). The slow, smooth shifts cause more wear on the tranny over time. Both of them may or may not take time of your 1/4, but only the VB mod would be any good on the street and potentially prolong the life of your tranny.

Great work Jeff! I'm sure many people will be interested!

Sounds good. Is this 350 installed?

Do you have any 1/4 comparisons yet

I.E. Stock vs. Gen 1 vb vs. Gen 2 vb

I have a VE Auto. Remember me Jeff, the NC guy? :) Probably not. But my 1-2 AND 2-3 shift are AWESOME. I have the RE4F04V tranny in 92 SE. What trannies did you have a problem getting the 2-3 shift to be firm? Obviously, Matt didn't have a problem with my tranny. :)

Read it carefully again. It's not a VB mod for 2nd gen Maximas, it's the 2nd generation of VB mod. :)

Will this 2nd gen VB mob work with a 3rd gen auto?? Or will I need to get the 1st gen VB first, then get the 2nd gen?? (did any of that make sense??)

AFAIK, VE Auto trannies aren't effected by this change. B/c they were easily able to make my 1-2 AND my 2-3 shift very awesome. The 2-3 shift is identical to the 1-2 shift. So I am assuming, RE4F04V trannies are not effected by this change. I'm not sure who is effected by this change.

nubiannupe, if you are thinking about a VB mod, DO IT. You will love it. I spent over $600 when it was all said and done b/c of Don Cooper's stupid A$$. Luckily, Maximum Tuning could fix what Don messed up and couldn't fix. Max Tuning is the ONLY company in the nation that I would let touch my tranny.

Sorry about the late reply. I'll try to answer all of your ?'s. The VB's are available for all gens. The 3rd gen's with the VG engine still use the same design because the 2-3 shift is allready very firm in our VB's for that tranny. $350 is the price installed. We do have cores available to ship out so you won't have any down time. If you have any quetions and I don't reply to your posts fast enough feel free to call me @ (516)676-8470

Jeff-- you probably don't remember me-- DC by way of Chicago- you hooked me up with a great VB mod.
At any rate, I'm coming up your way, but this Saturday. Any way you can fit me in this coming Saturday, the 10th for the 2nd gen VB for my 99 Max?

Hi i have a 99' maxima se and 46,000 about a month ago i go
a trouble code for low line pressure and lately it has been
reving after i push the gas and then it takes off and after
it shifts it revs a little to, all once in a while (about
once in 12 miles). Is my vb shot? will your vb cure this?
what kind of core charge? and how much do u charge? I want
as little downtime as possible.

thank you
