Thats just sick!! These are going on vqpower.

Cumalot Jan 9, 2004 11:23 AM

Very nice...loud as heck though. I wouldn't be able to stand the noise on a daily basis. Plan to dyno the car anytime soon?

He just wanted to get a few runs with open headers and doesn't plan on keeping it that way. He dynoed and posted in the 4th gen forum.

Vyrus Jan 9, 2004 11:25 AM

Wow it sounds very quick... but then again sound can be very decieving. Dyno or timeslips would be nice but I'm sure he's heard that 1000 times and this isn't going to change his mind. :)

Cool...any plan to video it without open headers? I want to hear what that would sound like.

Y2KSESteve Jan 9, 2004 11:27 AM

He'll have timeslips by the end of this month, hopefully with and without nitrous.

maximase86 Jan 9, 2004 12:18 PM

Hmm, what kinda cams is he running? Love the sound, but I dunno about the lumpy idle. Be interesting to see how his car runs without open headers. :D

Gen8888 Jan 9, 2004 12:23 PM

|Bijan| Jan 9, 2004 12:27 PM

He's running the JWT cams. He can adjust the idle, but he likes the lopiness of it right now. He has been running with the full exhaust for over a month, but wanted to get a couple vids of his car with open header.

|Bijan| Jan 9, 2004 12:31 PM

open header? no y pip or cat back connected??

Y2KSESteve Jan 9, 2004 12:34 PM

The headers include the Y-pipe, but the cat is not connected.

|Bijan| Jan 9, 2004 12:36 PM

So all the exhaust just shoots out the end of the Y pipe?

Legal??

IronLung....how much did you spend all together (if you dont mind)

Have you ever herd a muscle car at idle?
I love the way that sounds. You should watch Gone in 60 seconds. His Maxima sounds like that Mustang :D
Ok maybe not, but they sound so damn Nice

maximase86 Jan 9, 2004 01:51 PM

Yeah the sound is kick ***. If he likes that he might think of putting a cutout right before the cat? Though the american muscle idle on a maxima doesn't sound as good as a V8. But still, it kicks ***. :D

Ant96GLE Jan 9, 2004 02:22 PM

bk2kmax Jan 9, 2004 02:27 PM

Man, I'm at a loss for words, I never thought that I'd hear a Max that sounded like that, that's off da mete.

Can't wait to see the vids with the N20 runs!

Nahhh...I know he's not serious :)

And the lope at idle is absolutely beatiful.

dmontzsta Jan 9, 2004 02:50 PM

Damn, it sounds like a V8 at idle, I love that.

But to someone that doesnt know ish, they would think something is wrong.

How much HP do the cams and headers add?

|Bijan| Jan 9, 2004 02:50 PM

Geez..I've watched both of them like 10x

DA-MAX Jan 9, 2004 03:36 PM

nice...wonder how fast that truck was going when he pulled out, he matched the trucks speed like nothing  the idle does indeed own!!!!!

stephenlc Jan 9, 2004 03:46 PM

The cam makes the car sound awsome. I downloaded an all-motor civic with a cam sounded just like this. His car sounds like a Formula 1 ca rin the first video, weird.......

hlh0501 Jan 9, 2004 03:56 PM

sounds verrrrry good!

Cubanato Jan 9, 2004 03:58 PM

Crazy loud the second video reminds me a little of the sound from the shelby GT500 from gone in 60 seconds

-J

DAVE Sz Jan 9, 2004 04:13 PM

The first video sounds TERRIBLE, the car itself not the sound quality.

Nismo87SE Jan 9, 2004 04:13 PM

That does sound awesome my se-r doesn't lope like that unless I unplug the IAC to get the base idle to 700-800rpm with the cutout open.

sk24iam Jan 9, 2004 04:17 PM

The idle in that second video is amazing. I wish my car sounded like that.

MaximaRider Jan 9, 2004 04:18 PM

Sounds BadASS, congrats!

AscendantMax Jan 9, 2004 04:28 PM

damn i'm loving that idle in the 2nd vid...sounds like a muscle car. :surprised

Ninos_Maxima Jan 9, 2004 04:55 PM

Wow it sounds like a Ferrari, or something exotic. Try not to make the idle so lumpy, raise it up just a little so it doesnt sound like its dying. Luv the sound when it revs in the second video

Not even close, It's hard to capture the bone rattling sound on film. If I go start up mine, my neighbors get ****ed. The whole car viberates from the powah  (and thats with a full exhaust).

still fun, but it can get annoying after awhile with the idle like that, or at least it has with me.

A Ferrari?? lets not get too excited here :)

Craig Mack Jan 9, 2004 05:23 PM

Love the lopey idle, sounds bad@ss...sounds a little ricey when revved, but also unique....definately bad@ss.
