I just got some gr2's and I was wondering whether or not they are good with lowering springs. Also got eibach's. Are the two a good setup? Or did I just waste my money on something that wouldnt work well together?

Well I got GR2's on H&R's and they are supposed to work fine / last that is; I spoke with KYB prior to do this and they said that as long as the drop was not more than 2" I think, may've said 1.5" can't recall exactly but I know that with my drop 1.4 it's ok; what's your drop like?

I believe ericdwong verified with KYB that the max drop is 1.5".

If KYB said 1.5 or 2, than I should be ok. Thanks for the info. My drops I think is a little more than 1.5. Didnt really measure the gap before. Anyways, hopefully it'll be ok. Any idea on how long they'll last? Live on the west coast, not too many pot holes around where I live.

Question about KYBs......what's the ride/performance difference between the GR2's and Gas-Ajust's??? I've used the Gas-Ajusts in an RX-7 and am considering shocks for a relatively stock '90SE 5-spd w/ FTSB and RSB....thanks!!!

The KYB GR2 may not be a "high performance" strut, but it is much firmer than a stock 3rd gen strut. They made a tremendous difference in the handling of a stock 90 GXE.

The GR-2's are direct replacements for the stock shock/struts. They are not higher performance units, though. So, I would opt not to use them on a lowered vehicle. They may work fine, but why not get a dedicated performance shock? Right now the only "performance" replacements are the Tokico blues. A lot of people don't like them, but mine are just fine after 20k miles so far.
I heard KYB is developing AGX adjustables for the Maxima. I would wait on those, as they would be ideal for the Maxima. |
