This is on a 4th Gen with a weak <dead> battery. I have a new battery to put it, will it screw up the factory remote when I disconnect the old one?

It shouldn't

I've removed my car battery a few times to work on my car (up to 2hrs), and I haven't had any problems with the remote entry. I believe it's saved on the car's EEPROM, so you shouldn't have any problems with it remote code being erased. Even in the event that you had to reprogram it, it's not a hard problem to take care of, as it takes about 5 minutes to do it. However, you'll need to reprogram your radio presets and clock.

THANKS!!

I just wanted to know what to expect when I do this later! It's the wife's car, I'll let her deal with the radio!!!

Thanks!

no you won't have to... you will be ok. I've removed the battery several times and everything was ok.
