do you leave your golf clubs in your Max's trunk?
I leave them, as well as a pull cart just in case we don't ride.
The reason I ask is I seem to be getting a sound when I turn right (98 SE 5-spd with 93k), and I can't tell where it's coming from. Seriously, it doesn't seem to be the front-end. I almost sounds like the rear windshield, but I have wondered if the clubs are making the noise. I know, why don't I take the bag out and turn right? Well, if I do that, I may be ungolfable at work, and that s**** when a vendor invites you impromptu to play 9. :) |

so what your saying is you would rather listen to this right hand turn noise then miss out on a golfing oportunity? lol so why don't you do it after work just take them out and go for a ride down the street
|
I dont play golf or carry clubs but I had a noise also when I make a left turn. It ended up being the muffler hitting the bumper, fixed that but now I have another noise and I think its the rear leather seat shifting making a creek/pop noise. Just strap your clubs down with bungee cords or something

Drive to work one day with the clubs sitting in your back seat or strap them down one day. :) Advice from a 6 handicap.

Golf clubs? Check
Softball gear? Check Volleyball? Check Basketball? Check 25lbs of tools? Check Some guys like 60lb subboxs, but I prefer to carry 60lbs of athletic gear and tools  BTW, with the exhaust pipe cold, get under the car and tug on the exhaust near the trailing arm. See if you get any banging. The exhaust should be able to move at least 1" side to side and up and down. |
I have my golf clubs in my trunk, as well as my bowling gear. No sounds here
Take advice from a 3 handicap ;) |

Golf clubs permanently in the trunk, no odd noises.
41 handicap. |
My bag has a rain cover that buttons on the the upper rim. That keeps all the clubs safely in the bag during spririted driving.
P.S. I'd rather not give my handicap. :shy: |
clubs in the trunk with some misc. other crap. no sounds from back there though.
|
I carry one braker bar and 24 sq. feet of plastic... :naughty:

When it's really hot, you shouldn't leave your clubs in the trunk. The hot air in the trunk cannot escape and gets inside the shafts and stays there and messes with the dynamics of the shafts, and the club head if that particular club is not bore-thru.
Also, if you regripped your clubs and left tape covering the top of the shaft it's especially harmful to the shafts and clubhead. If the top of the shaft is covered there is no way of the air escaping from the shaft and when the air heats up and expands if really harmful to the shaft. Just keep that in mind next time it's 95 degrees out. Oh, and heat and golf balls don't mix, makes them travel shorter distances. So if you're loosing distance. It could be because your golf balls are sitting in the trunk baking and getting all fubared |

It could be because your golf balls are sitting in the trunk baking and getting all fubared I've been playing with Ping Eye 2 irons all through high school and college golf. During college, I was meaning to upgrade, but I was a poor college student that was taking advantage of the free golf, free meals, free hotels and airfare when nessecary. I wish I could play competitive golf still, but with a 6 handicap, you can't really play competitive golf like your use to in school. There are just too many awesome scratch players out there to compete in some of the tours in Vegas. Plus, once again, it takes a lot of money. |
i wanna learn how to play golf... =(

man im a hacker here with an 11 handicap.

man i spent so much money on golf equipment, lessons and course fees that i could have bought a turbo kit and a supercharger and still have money leftover .golf is addictive lol.

I'd think that there'd be some tolerance, like sure, you can't bake a club in the oven and expect it to come out ok, but the trunk I'd think is ok.....otherwise Nissan needs to have a "club" setting to vent the trunk in the summer....... I got the PING CRAZ-E putter with standard loft and lie. I also got some Callaway forged + wedges, 52 degree and 58 degree/12deg. bounce. My clubs are hand-me-down Callaway knock-offs. Yeah, too bad golfing is like skiing as far as costs go, but at least vendors invite us to play so that helps. |

With all the balls, clubs, etc, and my mens club every sunday ( which is $80 each sunday ) I could've bought a g35. But I'd rather have all the golf than the car right now

Do you realize how hot it can get in your trunk on a 90-100 degree day? I'm guessing 180 degrees EASY if the sun is beating on it. I have a digital temp and humidity gauge that I use for bracket racing. It has a MAX and MIN feature that lets you find out the max and min readings over a period of time. So I accidentally left my temp gauge in the car without my sunshades on. The sun was hitting it and it BAKED it. The screen turned black and i thought it was toast. I put it in the freezer right away and sure enough, it came back to life. I later found out that it got to a max reading of 180 degrees and it was only 80-85 degrees outside. I know the trunk is even worse b/c heat can't escape. With my sunshades in place, it hasn't gotten to 135 in my car ONCE on an extreme 115 degree day. But that's b/c I have limo tint also and the heat can't get in my car in the first place. |
