C/F hood and trunklid

I finally had the chance to install them with the help of my cousin Roger. The fitment of the hood is close to OEM fitment. The trunklid has increased the gap between the trunklid and the top of the bumper. I'm still modifying my Stillen Type II wing to better match my trunklid and the work is being done by my friend Rodell.

Don't ask me for any closeup pictures.

Looks sweet. But I do agree that the taillights have to go. Just doesn't mesh

Thanks guys....i'm not sure who is the maker of the C/F hood, I got it as a group deal (with the Honolulu peeps). It's the one with rolled edge.

I tried the RED/WHITE tails when i was doing the C/F trunklid install but i like the look of my LED 2 Altezzas. RED/WHITE tails is too plain for my taste.

I have the same rear bumper. The gap is bigger even with OEM trunk. You could put washers to raise it back up a bit but I'm too lazy.

I've already tried doing that before i even painted my car but it just messed everything up cause there is no gap between the outside taillights and the bumper. So when i placed a 1/4" and even a 1/8" spacers in between to raised it up, the outside tails was impossible to put in. And there was a noticeable crease that developed before the curve going up leading to the part below the outside tails of the bumper.

NICE! I think red clears wouldn't look so clean either. There's not much you can do to make a black trunk look clean on a blue car. I would do the skyline tail mod...blue on the outers or black(?) on the inners.

try to unbolt the latch from the trunk lid and bring it up a little bit.. i brought mine up on my trunk lid so far that when the lid was unlatched with the remote it didnt even swing open, it just sat there and i had to physically pull it up. killed 2 birds with one stone. it takes a lot of tweaking.

and your JIC keys are being delivered to my house next week theyve told me. it was only $250 for them.. *******s. sorry about all the trouble with them.

have you lowered the car very far down with the coils yet?

I'll try readjusting it again later to see if i can get it closer.

I did lower it one day to see how low it can go......but never did drive it around cause my car couldn't make it pass the hump in my garage without destroying my ground effects....

Love the color and I love what you did with those wheels. The whole car looks awesome. Only complaint is the altezza's...I agree, atleast do the skyline tail mod or something. Or maybe since you said you like LED's you could do LED tails with the red/clears? Either way, the car is nice

I love the car man. I want to do the same with my hood and trunklid. I have one question though. Why spend so much on bomb-@ss suspension but not get a decent set of rims. Just a question. Not attempting to be offensive.

Looks good, but it looks like there is a noticable gap in between the trunk and upper body. But still looks nice.

which trunk is this, paradox or ionic?

I originally had a set of Volks 19" GT-C gunmetal in order and have been waiting for almost 4 months before i decided to cancel the order since the guy i ordered it keeps giving me the run around. I ordered the set back in the beginning of May, 04 and cancelled it about two weeks ago. I'm trying to get some WORK wheels now.....haven't decided which one yet but i have a good friend that will be help me out. The 18" 350Z touring wheels are originally for daily driving since i can't see my car running the stock steelies. I did that for about 8 months after i sold my 18" RH C2 Evo.

It's by Ionicdynamics....The whole trunklid lid seems to be sitting about 1/8" higher. I've notice that the overall thickness of the material on the edge of the C/F trunklid compared to the OEM trunklid is about that much thicker too.

Well, I had an incident today that thuroughly scratched my trunklid. So, I want to get a CF trunklid soon. I looked on Ionic's site and they don't have the trunklid in their product list. It does appear that the site hasn't been updated in a while. I'm just interested what you paid for your lid? Were you the first one to purchase an Ionic lid or were there others? Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Looks pretty good. Not really into the tails too much like others have mentioned.

Side note: How difficult of a decision was it to cut holes in the dash for your center fill speakers?

I've been looking at the tails lately and you guys are right....i need to get them darker ( get rid of the chrome parts...)

It was not hard decision.....I'll be modifying the way i mounted the speakers soon, i want it to sink in more but it was actually modifying the underlying vent tubes that was difficult to modify to allow the speakers to sit lower on the dash.

You need to call him (JOSE GARCIA) on the number listed on the website. He told me that he is so busy that he is only making them per customer order. I think TheBigSadler had a C/F trunklid from Ionicdynamics too. And i think there is an on going group deal for the C/F 5th gen trunklid....check it out

Are you talking about the center channel speakers??? If it is, I have an Audio Control ESP-3 to control them. And the speakers themselves are (2) 5 1/4" Alpine coaxial speakers. They sound pretty good but barely can keep up with both of my oversized 6" Planet Audio on the door and kickpanel.

Well, not to be an ****, but ionic is not the way to go. I say go with Paradox.
The reason I say this is first, when I bought my lip it took longer then the estimated time to arrive.
Second, when I bought my CF door pillars, they arrived on time, but scratched to h#ll. I posted my dissatisfaction on the org and he apologized and stated that his employees sent them out without himself reviewing them. They were replaced.
Third, After all this, I went ahead and bought the CF sides and rear since he is the only one with them.
I was told I would recieve them in 4 weeks. Its been close to 6 weeks and have still not recieved them. I spoke to Jose last week and he said they were done and would be going out last weds.
I called him this monday and informed him i never got them. He stated he didnt get to ship them since he was out of town so he left it up to his employees who then forgot to ship them.
He told me he would get them out that Mon. and send me the tracking numbers.
I never got the tracking numbers.
I called Tues. with no answer and left a message for him to call me with an update. Nothing.
Its now Weds. and Im still waiting.
Poor communication and it seems he needs to hire employees that are more responsible.

Car looks sick, I think the AE headlight mod (paint the inner housing black) would go perfect if you're leaving the hood CF and not painting it.

The reason I say Paradox is I feel they have a better customer service with a quicker turn around time.
Jose is hard to get a hold of, as MaxMoJo (screenname) responds rather quickly.
At this time, I am not too happy with Ionic.

I think the AE headlight mod (paint the inner housing black) would go perfect if you're leaving the hood CF and not painting it.
Why would anyone do that??????
