Help! Gauge rings are too small and don't stay in place.....
Ok, I bought these metal gauge rings off Ebay a while ago, and when Patrick and I went to put them on my new gauge cluster, we realized that the two large rings were too small, but the two smaller ones fit perfectly. Patrick had said something about this happening to other people, so I'm trying to see what you guys have done, or would do. He mentioned putting a thin wire around the rings to fill them out...and I had no ideas of my own. So what would you guys do in this situation?
BTW- red LED needles and blue reverse gauge faces were installed and Patrick and I both agree they are damn sweet. Pics will be posted when project is complete, hopefully tomrrow. |
I had the same problem...I basically had to overglue it and hold it into place whiles it dried...its been sitting there now for over a year with no real problems, but it is definitely too small (covers up a little too much of the actual guage).

i had the exact problem when i got mine from Sycefiro years back. All i did was add a little more of that black puddy to the back of the two middle rings and they have stayed put since.

What black puddy?
BTW- Just did some more night driving and these needles are incredible. And the AE Cefiro's are sweet too, although there's some condensation in both, so I guess I'll have to make sure everything is tightened up tomorrow. Pics of all the new stuff coming soon... |
that sucks man. Paradox rings that I got don't do that!

I don't remember what I paid. No more than $30. Check Ebay.

my motostorm ones were loose but i got them to stick, i used more glue.

UPDATE- Pics are on homepage, which is updated, but not totally yet. We got the rings on by just using liberal amounts of super glue. It's working great so far. The LED needles really light up the insides of the rings at night and it looks real nice.
