If you are just swapping springs then you would just need steps 1-9.

The rears are even easier. One bolt on the bottom and two bolts inside the trunk. I didn't have a digital camera when I did the rears so I need to develop them before doing the write-up.

Hey nick, I just did the koni/sprint rear install last night. I had a question about the height. When you installed your koni's where did u place the little ring that holds up the strut base. There were two grooves. When I got the koni's the ring was on the second groove closest to the bottom, however I moved it up to the top groove cause the strut wouldn't reassemble. Was i supposed to leave the ring on the first groove and cut the rubber bump stop?
The reason why i ask is cause I don't think the back was lowered that much compared to stock. My car looks like a dragster. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. Al. |
i think thats the sprint springs.. when i did mine i looked at the car and thought.. wait a second.. the rear didn't move.. but it did just a little.. the front looks lower than the rear

What do you mean that it wouldn't re-assumble. I left mine on the lower setting (how it came in the box) because I knew that the Sprint springs would make it look slighly higher in the rear. Here are some pics of my car:

when on the lower setting the springs would sit lower from the top. Thus the Upper strut seat would not rest ontop of the springs. There was a lot of space. Leaving me to believe that I had to cut the bumpstop or something However I wasn't quite sure and I didn't want to risk it. Did you have to cut anythign for the rear?
This was the order of stuff that I assembled the strut. bolt washer upper strut seat round black rubber thing rubber bumpstop attached to sleeve springs strut base (on the upper setting) In this setup the upper strut seat fit on top of the springs directly and all i had to do was compress a lil and tighten the top bolt. In the other setup the strut seat did not touch the springs. |
I cut one notch out of the rear bumpstop.
