My lights behind the dash went out mysteriously. Well, actualy I was fiddlin with the wires to my CD player and I made a few changes, when I closed it up and went for a ride I realized my guages were dark. So I changed the wires back to how they were, and this didn't fix it.

When I put my lights on, the car isn't recognizing they are on, because the clock doesn't dim and the guage lights don't come on. Plus side, the clock stays bright with the lights on, down side I cant see how fast I go. Its dark as hell in there with no lights.

Has anyone elses dash lights gone out before?

Thanks.

Prolly blew a fuse when you did your CD player. You probably shorted out the power lead to your illumination on your CD player :p
Check your wiring again or look at the fuse panel and find out which fuse is blown.

Thats what I was messin with, the illumination wire! I looked in the fuse box, but I don't know which one it could be. I guess theres 1 way to find out huh, ahhh the worst.

Check the taillight fuse.

like he said

like was previously said, check the taillight fuse. in all my mazdas and hondas the dash lights were controlled by the taillight fuse... check it... while you think you may only have missing dash lights, you may have no taillights either. i found out the hard way about this... the cops nabbed me, gave me a warning though.

Yeah, the taillights and dashlights are wired so that when one trips, the other goes off too. Trust me, its happened to me before.

Thanks for the replies.

It was the fuse. To easy for me to figure out, I'm not used to that. It was "INT ILL" for, you guessed it, internal illumination. Luckily about the third fuse i tried. Its cool how we have a few spares in there. I have extras that I got anyway so if anyone ever needs them incase they cant find them, just holler, or IM.
