Maximus_95 Feb 11, 2005 03:20 PM

Damn what happened? anyways....at least everyone in the car are alright.

LeX Feb 11, 2005 03:36 PM

Yeah it was just me in the car, it's in a cobb impound lot right now until insurance comes to pick it up to take it to their lot to evaluate it and tell me how much $$ i can get for it, then i can go get my stereo and swap the wheels.

gtr_rider Feb 11, 2005 03:44 PM

omg, now I see what you meant,

Barc Feb 11, 2005 04:07 PM

You were the one who wrecked just before Christmas, right? Are you doing ok?

You're car looks bad. I hope you look much better. Have you decided what you are going to do so far as the insurance is concerned (keeping and 1) parting it out or 2) fixing it vs. selling it to the insurance company and keeping the money)?

I hope everything is going ok for you.

LeX Feb 11, 2005 09:42 PM

I actually wrecked it Feb 6th. I will def not be buying it back as i don't have the time or patience. It has a kYB/progress suspension, a really new orbital battery that will be left with it.

I am waiting to see what the deal is with insurance

Viscous Feb 12, 2005 07:32 AM

:mecry: sorry to see such a sad sight. hopefully you'll be able to get most of your money back from insurance.

2 Da Max Feb 12, 2005 12:25 PM

that is a very sad sight, puts a tear in my eye

Chief Brody Feb 12, 2005 04:03 PM

How did you wreck it. I am very sorry to see what happened and hope you are ok. I think its is good that others try to learn from what happened. Unless some idoit cut you off or something. Any plans for a new car? Maxima? Good luck.

MDeezy Feb 12, 2005 04:31 PM

very scary and sad sight. Hope all are ok.

please take the tims stereo and anything you can get off that car, you can ateast sell it on here and get some money to help you out.

Jason R Feb 12, 2005 05:36 PM

damn, sorry to hear about that. hope you're ok.

pull the center console out of that thing for me. :wall:

LeX Feb 12, 2005 06:47 PM

Stereo is coming out of the car and going into my new car (it's a surprise)

Rims are being sold as they came out 100%. Accident was not my fault and the other party's insurance should be covering the $$$$.

cheers

vsamoylov Feb 13, 2005 10:09 AM

it is a 97-99 4th gen but please tell me it is a 5 speed?

LeX Feb 13, 2005 12:08 PM

how can you be sure it's actually a maxima... and yes it's 5spd

vsamoylov Feb 13, 2005 12:20 PM

how can i be sure?
for starters, the rear seats, the rear c-pillars and where the belt come out of, the mirrors, the door handles, the anteena, spoiler, the 2 little lines that are on the roof, the hood, the rear small windows, is that enoguh?

its like that game where you have to find waldo.

and it cant be a i30 because i30 have rear headrests that are not part of the rear seats.

LeX Feb 13, 2005 02:19 PM

you got me, uh oh, it's a maxima!!!

well it's a 97SE sage mist 5spd, 95k miles, tan leather, auto climate, sunroof, heated seats, driver and pass power seats, blowse sound system. Got about everything!
Doesn't feel like home inside though

vsamoylov Feb 13, 2005 10:07 PM

sounds nice. any more pics of it?

LeX Feb 14, 2005 05:42 AM

I'm trying to figure out why your passenger airbag deployed if you were the only one in the car.

LeX Feb 15, 2005 06:44 AM

Lol i hit the lady in the front so both sides went off, i don't know otherwise

I see. I was under the impression that somebody had to be in the passenger seat for the airbag to deploy. That thing costs a bunch to replace you know. :grinno:

Torkaholic Feb 15, 2005 07:51 AM

Yeah, it's odd. In current production cars anyway, the computer takes into account the amount of weight in the seat and whether or not the belt is fastened, not only to determine whether or not to fire the bag, if so, how hard. I also recall hearing that there's some logic programmed in that, in essence, resolves "doubt" about whether or not the seat is occupied by deciding in favor of firing the bag. Also, if there's weight on seat, and the belt is unfastened, the bag will fire full power, regardless of crash severity, or amount of weight on seat. This info is pulled from my memory. I got heavy into airbag logic after my '02 Camry was destroyed in a wreck in which I got T-Boned (driver's side) by a Chevy Tahoe that was doing 40 mph (no, I'm not kidding). Only my curtain came down, the fronts and the seat bags remained undeployed. That got me on line and in the books. The programming logic is really complex; it's not just hit-fire. Notice how the seat bolster bag is still in:

EDIT: No doubt in my mind from the h3llish severity of the impact that I'd be dead were it not for that curtain. . .

kingrukus Feb 16, 2005 08:29 AM

Rip off those wheels and suspension and slap them on the new car.
