I'm not sure that "drive" can be accurately associated with "Tesla".

I think you can, however, accurately say, "I now ride in a Tesla X." or " I now aim a Tesla X."

... not "drive".

:bs::jeffy::calder::grinno::sprint2:

Can't believe I still remember who all these smiles were named for after 15 plus years!! Where's Jeff92SE these days? Y2KevSE? SprintMax? I remember ClubMaxima.com or .org too. I think SprintMax ran that? I think I still have a ton of the old street racing videos that were posted on here over a decade ago, before YouTube was even around. Lots from Hogan, aka yo_its_ok. Lol I should repost them. :D

Well, after my 1999 Maxima SE 5M, I picked up that red 2007 Toyota RAV4 V6 "Sport" which looked awesome on paper, but turned out to be one of the worst driving vehicles I've ever owned, and wasn't the least bit reliable either. Was amazing for family and kiddo management, but numerous poor engineering and design decisions in that vehicle that really made you scratch your head and wonder wtf Toyota was thinking? Did anybody ever drive the thing before signing off on the design? Typical Japanese, only caring about specs and not how well something actually works. I liked my Maxima and still miss it, but didn't like my Accord at all, nor the RAV4, so was turned off towards Japanese cars after that.

Was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 at the age of 33, and said to hell with it all and bought the Bimmer and love it, and have been driving it ever since. Drives awesome so unlike a lot of the newer BMWs, and still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Hasn't been perfect in the reliability department, but it's better than the RAV4, and a zillion times more fun to drive. German engineering is amazing in so many ways, and you can actually squeeze 4 people into that thing pretty comfortably for trips of a few hours. Amazing interior space management and efficiency. Was originally a lease, bought out the lease at the end, and now the CPO warranty just ran out. Totally ruined with this car, an E93, and don't know what I'd want next, so am just going to keep driving it. :gotme:

After my little cancer adventure, my wife decided to splash out on a Bimmer too, and has a 2012 BMW X5d with the asymmetrical twin snail turbodiesel engine. Love it. 265hp/425tq or thereabouts, and really scoots around town like my old Maxima did, despite being a 5200lb vehicle!! Falls a little flat on the highway with only 265hp, but can get a legit 28+ mpg on road trips which is amazing for a vehicle of that size. I never got better than 24-25 mpg even on the highway with my RAV4, which was much smaller and only 3900 lbs. Love diesel! Too bad VW screwed it up for everybody right when diesel was really starting to make progress in the U.S. Glad to see that BMW is committed to them and still offering them, and that they're about the only company that did NOT get :bill: in the big emissions scandal.

Lots of churn in my wife's family. We're caring for my brother-in-law full time since last year, who is disabled, my sis-in-law is coming to live with us for a bit, oh and we're also getting a dog , so trading in the X5 for a Yukon XL Denali soon and I'll drive that, and my wife will drive the 335i. Perfect candidates for a minivan, but both my wife and I are like **** that, so the "Big Den" it is. Cross off another automotive box, own a big Murican V8 powered something. :D

ptatohed 10-31-2017 10:18 PM

Thanks for the update SteV. So, you beat the cancer 100% I hope?

We still have the Maxima, and although it doesn't get driven too much these days it's still fun to drive when I do.

That's fantastic! Sometimes I wish I still had the Maxima, although I think I'd rather still have my unmodded '99 SE 5MT over my modified '03 SE 6MT. It was less car, and slower, but just more fun to drive for some reason. Both were bought new, back in the day.

Who else still has their Maxima? And what are you driving now? (My G is in my sigline, so there's that.)

Are you the one who had the black supercharged maxima at the first maxima meet in Maryland?
If so you remember the guy who touched the hot supercharger. I actually ended up buying that max years later and still have it.

Wassup biatches! Still check in once in awhile.

Still have my 03. Under 80k miles. Dents and dings everywhere (thanks to wifey) but runs great. Had to take off my carbon fiber hood so Honda guys would stop trying to race my wife.

Hit 50. Picked up a 2016 Mustang GT. Would love to hear what you guys are driving these days.

03Blk, 42 here. I still have yet to get a new car. :( I make a (low low) 6 figure income but supporting a family of 5 in Southern California, that doesn't go far. :/ So, I continue on with my daily '03 Acura TL Type S (~105,000 miles), a 2001.5 Stage 2 Audi S4 (~ 90,000 miles), and, of course, my supercharged '99 Maxima (~105,000 miles). :)

I feel you. In NJ and have a similar salary and the same applies over here.

Find myself here a little more as I spruce up the Maxima for my daughters who are at or near driving age.

Dang, was a 335i a natural progression from a 4th gen Maxima or what? I bought one new, also bought a GM SUV new. And lastly a Lexus LS used. Now if you say you also got a Lexus LS, I dunno....that would be weird lol

think about this...my 1998 SE was my first new car, and now I have 4 cars....

You must have figured it out by now, drop (or dropping) resistor mod. When the resistor is unplugged the transmission runs at full pressure which makes it shift fast and hard.
