Swift Motorsports Retractable License Plate Holder

Was surfing the web for some universal license plate holders and came across this. It looks really cool and I am seriously considering getting it. I just wanted to share the find with everyone else.

They also have a non-motorized version as well.

Not sure I get it? What's it used for?
Either your state requires you to have a front plate or it doesn't?
Do you flip your plate up when you see a cop? I dunnoo, maybe I'm just getting to old.

I can see it being useful if you show your car.

Great for getting through monitored red light camera traps and toll road runner cams...

It would pay for itself in a matter of minutes...

Correct its for the people that don't like to have a front plate but its required by state to have one. that way if a cop pulls you over for not having one all you have to do is press the switch and when he walks up to the front of the car boom there it is. Can't give you a ticket for not having one.

Also it is good for car shows for those that want the nice clean look of no front plate.

Im sure that there is a way to make it do it that way. All you would have to do is wire it up a certain way. But at the same time you could just mount the wireless remote inside your car if thats what you really want, does the same thing.

If I'm not mistaken, I think those cameras target the rear plates.
I have actually seen similar setups for rear plates, but I don't know about the trouble one can get into just for having one of those.

I would tear that off in a week. Just have to bottom out the front end going up a bump and bam its bent or torn off.

I could see that for a show car. Otherwise, people would probably just laugh

isn't it too low? I imagine that there are height requirements for front plates?

I am pretty sure there isnt.. that would be pushing it alittle to much IMO I think that as long as you have a front plate its np.

I purchased one but just got my car back from the body shop so haven't installed it yet.
