D2R vs. D2S Bulb

Hello,

My friend is selling a pair of D2S bulbs. I checked the bulb and it looks the same as my D2R bulbs in my 2000 I30t.

Now my question is, what is the difference between the two? If I get those bulbs, would they go in my I30?

Thanks,

Omar

D2S bulbs are made for projector setups
D2R bulbs are made for a regular housing like maximas and i30s.

CKOTuHA is right,

NisMoN00B, & Smooth,
We all know that D2S and D2R are hid bulbs, and we all know that "regular housings" are reflective housings.

The bulbs are essentially identical, but D2R bulbs have a coating on the underside to act as a shield to help prevent glare in your reflector-based HID setup.

they also have different notches on the base, so a D2S cant be used in place of a D2R and vice versa, that is uless you modify the base
