So I go to start the Maxima today to try out the OBD2 can tool... well when I first cranked it, car wouldn't start, and sounded very very nsaty. 2nd time, it wouldn't start, just heard the car sucking in wind. 3rd time, I let the car crank for a long while, 20-30 seconds, car catches... but idles very very rough... I had to keep the gas in to make sure it won't stall. Anyone else have this issue? Mine's done that in the past, not a new thing, but this time seems worse.

I believe the knock sensor malfunctioning will not trip the MIL but will cause the car to act like crap. Get it checked. Otherwise :gotme:
