Does anyone know who manufactured Frankencar's exhaust?

Since it is a very popular exhaust, but extremely hard to get new, anyone who manufactured it? Maybe we can go straight to the source?

I was wondering the same thing. I feel like the muffler is the key to that system. If I could just find out where they got that muffler I would be happy.

Stromung comes to mind. Not sure though.

Good question. The 5.5 gen frankencar clips I heard a while back sounded sick.

it was manufactured in a company in south korea I think... thats what steve told me back int he day when it first came out..

i dont know the company info off hand.. someone should contact steve and ask him for the info

Have Frankencar exhaust, not thrilled...

Interesting, I have one of these and definitely not happy with it. The fit was real approxiate and required much fussing to get right. But mostly, I can't hear much difference from the OEM system.
I replaced the Bpipe at the same time. I still almost nothing inside the cabin with the windows up.
I didn't seek a moronic blast or anything, just a nice, richer exhaust not. Didn't get it.
I'd try Cattman if I were you.

I think Cattman's are made by them. The Stromung cat back for the Sentras looks identical to Cattmans. I'd be pretty funny if they were both made by the same company.

The whole reason people love this exhaust is because it isnt ricey.. it frees up exhaust flow but keeps the noise to as minimun and sounds awesome when coupled with headers..

and the rear section is fussy because its pretty heavy.. you have to use like couplers on the hangers to make it fit tighter..

that being said.. i miss my Frankencar exhaust alot.. my insurance company didnt let me take it off the car when it got totaled.. so thats 1 less frankencar exhaust out there.

I think you're the first person I've ever heard that is not happy with a FC catback...EVER.

That's the best part about the FC...with a y-pipe, it's just a bit louder and deeper than stock but unlike stock it's stainless steel, won't rust away, and looks damn nice sitting under the rear bumper.

The reason most of us got FC is that we wanted a nice quiet exhaust that has just a bit of roar at high throttle. If people want more loudness, there is Cattman (good loud) or any number of fart cans out there.

BTW, if you don't like it, why not sell it? I GUARANTEE you can get top dollar for a FC catback, since they're impossible to get now, and are still in high demand!!

btw black02, you think this sounds like STOCK??

Frankencar Revisited

Here I've tried to put my comments into context.
Sound:
I appreciate your comments. Like all of you, I didn't want the ricer sound either. Let's just agree to disagree on this one.
Build quality:
Excellent. Nice welds, high quality generally.
Fit:
Perhaps it was limited to the piece I received but the fit really was an issue. Still unhappy with the fit overall--much fussing to avoid banging with the result that it looks somewhat askew from the rear.
Service:
Shipped fast, good service.

to fix th fit in the back you need to take couplers and fasten them to the hangers so it wont move.. the muffler is too heavy for the support.. u need to re-enforce it. It will def solve the banging issue.

BUMP! Looking at FC's exhaust pictures, I noticed the resonator and muffler are made by Mussa.

But does anyone know where to source these? The ones on eBay are all fart cannons.

ive really liked my frankecar catback, still looks new even after 2 chicago(rust)winters.

the only reason id get rid of it is if i can get jic to modify theyre catback for me. i cant have a huge fart can on my car, and i dont know if theyre underbeam design will work with my excessive drop.

anyone know hom much the catback actually weighs, the jic im looking at is right about 15lbs fromw aht i caould find out about it.

True...there were some minor fit problems that required using hose clamps to reinforce hangers to support the extra weight..

You think maybe they had them rebadged later on? Or different parts?
