Chris coilovers sounds cooler than springs well true coilover sounds even better could go as low as 3" ride is tighter think the only downside is its ride here's a pic... http://photos.onebigvillage.com/pubimage.asp?id_=62250 gc coilovers dunno the drop though anywhere between 2.5-3" |
pros
- adjustable ride height - you choose spring rate cons - more expensive than conventional setups - adjustable ride height (if you don't know what you're doing) - you choose spring rate (if you don't know what you're doing) |
if you have the money
JIC Magic in japan has just released two versions of the coilovers in the US. They are one piece and and are supposed to be one the top quality coilover manufactuers out there. I've never heard of them personally but they make a bunch of tner parts for all sorts of makes and models...mostly the Skyline and WRX. One version is around $1,500 and is 16-way adjustable...I'm assuming with damper, height, possibly spring-rate control. The other is about $1,100 with 8-way adjustablity. I have a friend who has these on his I30 and loves them. I haven't rode in his car to compare with my Tokico/H&R's yet. Maybe we can get a group deal.

There are also Kei Office coilovers. I think you can only get them in Japan though. SYCEFIRO has them and so does Jason Yeh (forget his s/n though, but it might contain his name). They go pretty low, I have some pictures of each person's car if you want.

Here's Jason's

SYCERIRO
I have a shot of his wheel where you can see the ride height, but I would have to scan it for you, if you want. |
do you have to have a camber kit when you get GC coilovers? and if so, from where? (don't say stillen, their camber kit is too expensive)

wat is TRUE coil?
Here's a picture of my SPAX coilovers from the UK (on my Miata). The sleeves are integrated on the shock itself, not a sleeve unit. FYI, those are 14 way adjustable shocks :P if u get groundcontrol u hve to get shocks too right. Yes, the GC are sleeve/spring kits. It does not include a shock/strut. |
Re: Re: Re: Re: Ground-Control, the up's and downs----->
Cattman's are still a sleeve setup. He just did a lot of custom work using Eclipse shocks. If the threads aren't on the shock body itself, it's a sleeve setup.
