$300 savings for one month's wait. would you?
Here is the situation. Dealer 1 will have the vehicle you want next week. Dealer two has one on the boat and will arrive in a month or so. For $300 difference, do you have the patience to wait?
I ordered my 2002 and since it hasn't arrived, I went to another dealer to check. Told them my story and they said they can do around $300 better. The catch is I have a deposit at dealer 1. |
Do you have a written contract? I'd bet you do. If not get dealer one to price match ya. Perhaps he can give you $300 worth of service or perhaps a service manual and toss in some floor mats?
Heck I'd spend the $300 in gas before you even got the mystery car on the boat. My 2 cents. |
$300 in a car loan = about $1 a month extra. i understand it's $300 but i would RIDE tomorrow and just forget about the possibilty of maybe next month driving a new car

Bigbadboss, thats up to you, personaly I would just pay the extra $300 because I have no patience. BTW in the future for you or any one else reading, never leave a cash diposit, put a deposit down using a credit card, this way if the dealer refuses to give you back your deposit you can just dispute your credit card charge and your problem is solved! Pretty nifty ahh.. |

Originally posted by dmbmaxima88 i was just using an approximate number off the top of my head that i knew the rate for. but 5% is a great rate, what bank and where are they located?? |
Originally posted by emax95 Coventry Credit union, in Coventry R.I. Rates: 12-36 month is 4.5%, 37-60 is 5%, 72 months is 5.5%, not bad at all! I got a small loan for my I30 last December there and it was 9%, luckily the rates droped big time! It's a great time to buy a new car.. |

HOWEVER i am glad you came up with the correct number. BTW can i have a loan????? :shy: |

Originally posted by emax95 Cool, FYI the numbers are all .5% higher if you do not pay using direct deposit. I may have the "direct deposit" term wrong, basicaly what they do is take 0.5% off there loans if you give them permishin to take the monthly payments out of your saving account directly, I actually prefer this method because I don't have to go threw the bother of writing a check each month. Let me know if you need there phone #. |
pay 300 you've seen it you know it's there, i can't be on back order and it works (assuming you've driven it).. save 300, car might fall off the boat, might not even be on the boat, might have changed colors on the boat (from what htey called gray luster to sunlit sand) they'll say almost anything to get your money.. what if it has one less option you want? I'm thinking work a bargain out.. they'll throw out 300 bux for you in either parts or labor.. they'll sell a car 300 bux less just to get it off the lot today, but they wouldn't want to make an extra 300bux and keep the very same car on the lot for a month.. they'll give it to you, just dont' cuss them out...

Originally posted by dmbmaxima88 you've got to be carefull with the 6-spds because they are HOT HOT HOT. i sure they are getting calls from people who want it and other people are looking at it. if you can't get them to move don't lose this deal. they aren't easy to find right now and this one is a sure thing. |
$300 is nothing...I'd be way to anxious to be able to wait a month.. :D
|
Ok, thanks for your opinion. I don't want to wait much longer so I will likely go with the first deal UNLESS the car don't get in next week. ETA should be end of this week.
|
But... If you wait could you possible get the better limited slip diff?
Now that I'd wait for. ;) |
