lulz. Cop was fired.

Leo_Koneval Nov 29, 2009 03:21 AM

Hahaha what the hell? Was that guy like trying to get back at the cop for 12 minutes, only to have a back and forth between him and the cop? I mean after the cops first outburst I would have had been like "Oh, I'm so sorry" and just moved on, but they went at it verbally for 12 minutes

But yeah, Tokyo Drift music, very nice :) I have the same some on my playlist :) :) :)

I am pretty sure it is a radar detector, the video would have been much more enjoyable without it

One bad apple.

saylee Dec 5, 2009 01:59 AM

damn..after he found out there was a camera, he stopped his cursing and his threats..lol, pretty funny how he thought he was the **** until he knew the camera footage would ruin his career as an officer instead of the guy that hes threatening.

chrome91 Dec 5, 2009 11:05 PM

Actually, it IS in their job description to treat everyone with respect. MOST of them do and are pleasant.

As far as legality is concerned, situations such as this one are difficult to call. I'll start off by saying that the officer involved here was indeed terminated from the force, however, it was NOT due to misconduct. When the party involved in this particular incident filed a claim against the police department, the officer involved failed to produce the video tape from his cruiser dash-cam for this time period, and hence was terminated on those grounds.

As for legality, there really isn't anything "illegal" that occured during the duration of this film. Given the known circumstances, the police DO have the obligation to investigate the vehicle. This includes running the plates and questioning the driver (a lone vehicle pulling into a commuter lot at 2 a.m. is suspicious by most law-enforcement standards). However, there are limitations on investigations where no apparent illegal activity has taken place. The driver does have the right to refuse information if he is so inclined (but should do so politely). The guy in the clip did nothing illegal by being impolite, but obviously aggrivated the officer. The grey area comes in when the officer threatens to make up complaints against the driver. Technically, this is NOT misconduct unless he actually DOES make up a complaint. It does, however, reflect poorly on how an "officer" should present himself. Some would argue he violated his duty in this respect, others would argue that the compulsion to present himself more respectfully should come from his superiors, the chain of which would eventually come to an elected official.

Either way you choose to see it... I believe the officer acted out of line, but I think we can all imagine how he was baited and aggrivated to do so. If you find yourself at odds with that statement, you may be able to better understand it if you were privy to this particular individual driver and his many, many unusual run-ins with law enforcement.

+1, ive always seen cops as you respect them, they respect you. people who b1tch about speeding tickets just make the situation worse, people who are nice about it sometimes get off

the guy in the Max was pretty nice at the start of the vid...
